Does green beer taste any different from regular beer?
Why doesn't it turn your mouth green like Slurpees do?

If you have to ask if green beer tastes different than regular beer, how do you know it doesn't turn your mouth green?
Well, see, green beer is so unnatural, it borders on gross. To get psyched enough to actually swallow it, you have to drink several regular colored beers. By the time you drink that much beer, the taste really doesn't register. It does, however, lead to seeing lots of weird things, none of which has ever been a green tongue. Why?
*"Dragnet" theme.

"JAILBIRD OF THE DAY" is like a funny joke. It works the first 4 times but after that its just annoying.
here kitty, kitty, kitty!!!!
Maybe the green beer works a similar premise as the pink pepto that turns your tongue black.
As for the jailbird picks - I likem myself. Saves me from having to root through all them varmints!
You know what the option is if you dont like the Jailbirds-
You don't have to look at them.
Sorry for going to the trouble just to give you something to bitch about.
Don't stop AttNu!! I like to see them! The people I work with don't understand how the wvrj site provides such entertainment....but then they wouldn't. I'm glad someone does. {: D
It's always comforting to know that somebody's having a worse day than you are ... & having the pictures to prove it is just icing on the cake. LOL
I still think WVRJA should archive the pictures for those of us who can't get to them when they're fresh. So to speak. I doubt some of those people have been "fresh" for a long, long time. teeheehee
BTW, AN - I hate to delete public service messages, but there is a language rule here, ya know. Please don't make me cut, delete, edit, paste ...
Hey rose, we aloud to say Bull Hicky?
Anyone have any thoughts on the teachr strike set for Wed?
Bull Hicky's good. Bull Hockey's OK, too. If my kids can say it to Grandma in church, it's acceptable.
Actually, I do have several thoughts on the teacher walkouts. I think SirHenry pretty much covered the majority of them.
They were originally offered a one-time payout ... was it $1,300? ... & it wasn't approved. That's way more than 3% of a lot of teachers' paychecks.
Maybe it's time to implement the ol' Momma Policy - "Take what you're offered or get nothing at all."
I think raises should be based on merit, anyway. Nobody ever decided to become a teacher thinking they'd get rich. They go into it knowing full well it's a thankless, low-paying ulcer waiting for a place to happen. The ones who overcome all that deserve a raise. The ones who are just riding their coattails deserve the ulcers.
Wouldn't it be funny if the teachers who walked out got fired & the ones who did their jobs got the sought after 6% pay raise?
My My My isn't that sexy, a women showing authority, makes a person green with envy. With temps. in the 70s, can't ya feel the love in the air?
There is a dangerous virus being passed around electronically, orally, and
by hand. This virus is called Worm-Overload-Recreational-Killer (WORK). If
you receive WORK from any of your colleagues, your boss, or anyone else via
any means DO NOT TOUCH IT. This virus will wipe out your private life
completely.
If you should come into contact with WORK, take two good friends to the
nearest grocery store. Purchase the antidote known as
Work-Isolating-Neutralizer-Extract (WINE) or Bothersome-Employer-
Elimination-Rebooter (BEER). Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has
been completely eliminated from your system.
I for one think that if teachers walk out then take away the pay check for days missed. You don't get paid in the coal mines for days missed or work undone either.
They were offered a total of $1600.00 per year raise but that was not good enough for them, let them do without. How many of you out there have gotten a raise? My wife got a big $.07 (yep 7 cents per hour) last year after gas went from $1.30 to $2.99 per gallon. What a joke that was huh? Yet our poor little teachers can't make it on $1600.00 extra a year. Too bad. Those that can do, those that can't Teach. Everyone email the Governors office and suggest the walk out be taken from their paychecks and see how they like that.
$1500 is 3% of about $53,000. How many teachers make that much money? They should have taken the lump sum pay out.

I recall schools making the kids to go school for an hour or so when it snowed just so they could get paid for the whole day. I sure wish I had that gig going on where I work.
I see that Joe Manchin has appointed his wife to the school board. Hmmm, that should help.
{: P
On those teacher raises, keep in mind, the info came from politico Joe Manchin. Ever heard a politician tell the truth? Not often and always with a twist.
Here's the twist, when he says $X in raises this year, he is including the automatic annual increase for years served. That's in their contract, automatic.
Got to watch those politicians!
i'll see you tonight rose
Hmmm ... & did you? See me last night, I mean. More to the point, did I see you??
I see Boone Co schools are closed today. There's a guy being interviewed on Channel 3 saying, "these people are fiesty. That's what makes Boone County great. That's what makes the people great." Think about that a minute. Boone County's the one Clay County tells jokes about. That says a lot about ... a lot.
Teacher walkouts are illegal. I wonder how many people will be arrested if/when they break the law?
Walkouts are illegal? What would happen if all branches of law enforcement and the military went on strike?
No clue. Frankly, I can't see the military going on strike. It's a whole different mentality.
Here's an excerpt from Dr. Paine, WV State Superintendent:
"Work stoppages by teachers and service personnel are illegal.
Both the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the West Virginia Attorney General have affirmatively stated that public employees, including teachers and service personnel, have no right to strike. I have attached a copy of both opinions."
The entire memo can be found at www.wsaz.com (among other places).
oh but the military here stateside did shut down in 1995. It was one of those great years that our wonderful MR. Clinton didnt approve a budget or something like that.
We got paid in october that year on the previous budget, but the 1st of november came and i didnt get paid. several units around camp pendleton california quit training. the budget was passed a couple days later and we were caught up on our pay the next check.
All the marines doing real world missions had no choice but to perform. the rest of stayed home until the budget went through. wasnt a walk out, due to the fact that we had no money. all of our bosses literally told us to stay home, due to the lack of funds.
Clinton was great for the economy but a killer to the military!!

Clinton's an idiot.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR ... you know who you are ...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
And ... KUDOS to all Clay County teachers who are hard at work today! & they are ... I saw it with my own 2 eyes.
Ms Rose you sure hit the nail on the head that time. Hillary's a bigger IDIOT then he is. But Idiots surrounded by idiots can do lots of harm to the common person also. Take for instance the bill Clinton signed against the VN veterans having to have an out of pocket expense placed on them. I remember during the time of service how well the Veterans Administration and the US Government was going to supply all our medical needs for the rest of our lives. That went out the window as soon as we became veterans of VN. Thanks to our congressional leaders, Byrd Rockefeller and Rahall they signed on for this bill also. I still say Congress and the President should be on the front lines for a 13 month period just like we were back then and see how long it would take for them to decide that the medicines and other benefits taken away from us are little in comparison as to what the sacrifice is to fight for this country and then be turned away from a medical facility providing services. I think you would see a different VA Facility overnight. But like anything else the big boys get all the benefits and the little man gets the SHAFT but does the work.
I saw on channel 8 news today that some of the teachers who did strike in some counties would not be desciplined if they made the day up at the end of the school year. What awful punishment go to school and sit on your butt all day with no students in attendance. Oh the horror!! I work for barely above minimum wage, and with the gas prices and a family to take care of and keep a roof over our heads give me a 1500.00 year raise. You will see one happy momma doing her happy dance.
Hey thank you very much for the birthday wishes.
And finally I get to see the daily jailbird!
who is thatjames rogers?
JAMES ROGERS!!!!
LIVES JUST PAST THE CLAY GO MART TO MAYSEL. BLUE HOUSE SIX KIDS!!!

Dr. Jamie's perscription pad?
I heard 2 weeks or so ago while
shopping in Rite-Aide Clay ,
The pharmacy man on the phone with a paper in hand asking "I thought it was policy to not write any percriptions for narcotics once it has been reported they stole your perscription pad." name he announced was James Rogers.
How can anyone talk of the Clintons being morons when we have the worst president in all of history in the white house today running this country to hell in 5th gear with the hammer down? If you were to take all of Bill Clintons worng deeds and all of Hiliary's futer blunders and multiply them by 100 you would still be a light year away from the what GWB did in his first year as president.
What a wonderful place this is that someone can come on here and put someones name up and attach the most vile rumors to it and stand back and watch in the shadows with no fear of being found out. I would give my left nut if peoples real names were attached to each of these messages. I dont know much about computers but I bet I could find some nerdly little computer nut that would do this for a few bucks. Then we would see the mice and cockroaches run when someone turned on the lights.
Ya know, if it hadn't said, "Anyone else hear ..." & "I heard ..." I might've left it there. However, I don't think I'll be the hostess for anybody who just wants to ruin somebody's day.
When you can replace, "I heard" with "Charges were filed," then we'll all hear the gory details.
Y'all can put your nuts back in the can ....... teeheehee
TY Anon but after serving this country and a VN veteran I don't think I qualify as being nerdly or a cumputer nut. As for the current president I feel sorry for people who can't remember what a mess we were in when the Clintons sold this country out and gave all our factory jobs to other countries via the NAFTA agreement. If you had been down south when the border rush started a few days later and all the people bieng thrown out of work and not able to support their families any more I think your attitude and nuts would be a little safer. I don't run from lights being turned on either. Other words I won't stab you in the back but can cut your throat and laugh while you are bleeding to death.
Public Notice
Now for the reason I came on here today::::: If you live in a manufactured home in Clay Co. or have built a home here since 1990 you better pay close attention to the news page of AW's site. Better still go over to the County Clerks office and ask for a copy of the new ordinance they are trying to pass. This does effect each and every person in this county and with 6500 voters there should have been a courthouse over run with people last night instead of 150 people. All those working have a legitimate excuse for not being there. If you intend to live in this county or build anything in this county you need to read this Zoning Ordinance and attend the next public meeting on this issue.

i agree with 8:08 about clinton
you might disagree with bush, but clinton killed us. i was active duty and i saw our service downsize by 40% in his office years.
this isn't something you have to take my word on. just google some of his military policies. i was a young married soldier with 1 child and couldn't even earn enough to stay off welfare. I went to war in the early 90s and came home to my family to live in poverty AS A SOLDIER. OUR DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM.
Bush might have made some major blunders that you dont agree with and neither do i.
but Clinton was a showboat that had all of his own downfalls. he cut many programs that the normal population wouldn't miss. like military and veterans funds. only a small percentage of our mainstream pop. can claim to be a vet. So who would miss a few million dollars to balance a budget. only the vets and service members.
now we are reaping the benefits of a smaller military and over working our soldiers on the battlefield. you might say its because we are in an unneccary war, but historically we go to war to ensure our military is operationable. we would have gotten tied into one soon enough without this one. and we would still have been unprepared because of the moron named CLINTON
HE WAS NOTHING BUT A pot smoking draft dodger that allowed faggots in the service.
Anyone in the normal population that is anti-military is usually considered anti-government and unpatriotic.
What happens when one is commander in cheif??
as far as giving my name, where is yours? i have developed an opinion thats one sided. as is yours. if anyone says the clintons are great. i am sure that our economy flourished, but don't look at what many people had to endure to get it there.
9:50 am Anon:
Keep in mind, Mr Bush has done the very same cuts Clinton did and more. That includes cutting VA benefits to those returning from his war in Iraq. How very sad.
You think Bush gives a damn about veterans? HAHAHAH!!!
Bush Administration cuts $1.5 billion from military family housing. The Bush Administration cut $1.5 billion for military family housing, despite Department of Defense statistics showing that in 83,000 barracks and 128,860 family housing units across the country are below standard. ("Nothing But Lip Service," Army Times, June 30, 2003; "House Appropriations Committee Approves $59.2 Million for Ft. Hood," U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards Press Release, June 17, 2003)
The Bush Administration's 2004 budget underfunded veterans' health care by nearly $2 billion. ("Vets Health Low on Bush's Priority List," The Hill, September 17, 2003; "Support for Troops Questioned," Washington Post, June 17, 2003; U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs, September 2002)
Bush Administration proposal would end health care benefits for 173,000 veterans. More than 173,000 veterans across the country would be cut off from health care because of Bush Administration proposed budget cuts and its plan requiring enrollment fees and higher out-of-pocket costs. ("Support for Troops Questioned," Washington Post, June 17, 2003)
Bush Administration budget cuts force more than 200,000 veterans to wait for health care. Over 200,000 United States veterans have to wait more than six months for a medical visit because of health care shortages. ("VA Health Care Funding Alert," Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Press Release, January 31, 2003)
Bush Administration opposed plan to give National Guard and Reserve Members access to health insurance. Despite the war efforts of America's National Guard and Reserve Members, the Bush Administration announced in October 2003 its formal opposition to give the 1.2 million Guard and Reserve members the right to buy health care coverage through the Pentagon's health plan. One out of every five Guard members lacks health insurance. ("Bush Opposes Health Plan for National Guard," Gannett News Service, October 23, 2003)
Bush Administration cuts $172 million allotted for educating the children of military personnel. The Bush Administration's 2004 budget cut $172 million of impact aid funding. Impact aid funding assists school districts by making up for lost local tax revenue from tax-exempt property, such as military bases. These education cuts will especially affect school-age children of troops serving in Iraq who reside on military bases. ("Support for Troops Questioned," Washington Post, June 17, 2003)
Bush Administration tax cut denies military families increase in child tax credit. The families of 262,000 children of military personnel do not receive the child tax credit increase because the plan fails to cover taxpaying families with incomes between $10,500 and $26,625. According to The Washington Post, the House version of the Bush Administration plan "wouldn't help many of those serving in Iraq." One solider who will not benefit is Army Specialist Shoshana Johnson, the soldier and single mother who was wounded twice in the same convoy as Jessica Lynch. ("Ex-POW's Family Accuses Army of Double Standard on Benefit," Washington Post, October 24, 2003; "The New Senate Child Credit Legislation - What It Does and Does Not Do," Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, June 25, 2003; "Whose Child Is Left Behind," Children's Defense Fund, July 23, 2003)
Keep on thinking Bush is for anyone but the top 5% of the most wealthy. Thats all came from and all he ever gave a damn about. Hes a cocaine addict, a drunk, a yellow draft dodgeing coward rich boy that has lined the pockets of the wealthy at the cost of the working man and the poor more than anyone ever before him. But you keep on thinking Clinton was the bad guy. Bunch of damn fools.
What the ????????
Geeze, how about next time you tell us how you REALLY feel about Bush! lol
cocaine addict?
What's the story on TG? Is AW tellin the truth finally?
I heard from a friend who
heard it from a friend whooooo
said that it is in fact true.
SO why is he not in jail.OR on jailbrid of the day.MAybe thats just for the James Rodgers of the world.
I think that is exactly it.
The issued punishment for a crime is handed down, not by guilt or innocence but by "Who" you are or who you know or who you do!
Down right disturbing, but very true in the Good Ol' Boy system that is all too alive & well in Clay County.
I thought that teachers had "contracts" not "contacts"
Only in Clay county
Now that you have written all the CRAP about the Bush Administration you left out that all this was done through Congress. But lets not put the blame where it belongs as it would put the blame on our CAREER senators and congressman that will be making cuts on the people 25 years after they are dead and gone compliments of blind voters.
You know what make me green.Everyone knows the GOOD OL BOYS but no one can take about them.Just the jailbirds attractive nuisance.Try something new the PICs of the ones who need to be in jail.
yep congress approved
but in the military the cuts that bush has made wasn't fealt thru the military community like the ones clinton made. if you are outside looking in you would say look at those numbers WOW.
for instance the military school children statistic. more and more children are going to off base schools. wouldn't it make sense to cut funding to on base education if the enrollment drops. the papers do not focus on that part of it!
the tax credit part?? ok thats nation wide. it has nothing to do with his military funding or underfunding. i have been in the military along time and under his proposal i did get alittle back. As for Ms. Johnson, she has not been in the army long before she went to war. i will agree that she probably didnt benefit from the tax credit. but she has benefits from the POW status that she carries with her. Our government respects that and all of our population should also.
the health insurance for the guard?? you qoted something from 2003. the national guard does have a program now. sometimes it can be long term. some sees it as not a very good plan, because it might not be eligible for all. the dental has always been there for a cheap monthly rate. medical starts up when deployment orders are given. the guard does everything it can to deploy the soldier. once a soldier goes on tour him and his family is covered under tricare. when the tour is complete there are several options left out there for his/her family to take advantage of.
unless you are in the military you wouldnt understand what was cut. all the newspapers show that bush has cut alot. but i now have a better life because of bush. the housing is good and i dont know of anyone waiting to get in housing, the education system is still in place on all bases and working(but experiencing a major decline in enrollment), payraises have come annually(clinton kept the military on welfare), and my VA care is the same. the ones that lost VA care were the almost 200, 000 vets that make a butt load of money.
i don't agree with the va part of what he did, but compared to clinton he was an opposite, and bush is a plus for the soldiers.
JAilBirds aint nothin but a blog entry.
Theres a link on Rose's page.
Make yer own.
I'm done with it.

At least with AN's jailbird entries, you could tell WTF he/she is talking about and it's not this longass windy political stuff. Thanks for ruining it ya whiner!
WHINE OR GREEN BEER ST. PATRICKS DAY WILL BE HERE.
I'll take the green beer or I'll be green if I drink too much beer!
No whining though!
Speaking of whining, I see that the Kanawha County teachers salaries are on line.
http://media.graytvinc.com/documents/wsaz_KanSchool_EMPSALARY.html
I'm wondering if these salaries are comparable to the ones here in Clay County.
I have to say if I was making most of those salaries for 9 months worth of work, and insurance and paid holidays and indoor work, and a retirement plan. I'd probably keep my mouth shut before someone realizes how overpayment goes on.
that link doesn't work
Top of the blarney bush to ya Rose!
180 days of mandatory school is 6 months in my book
School is set up for 20 days per month and of course you have to count all the faculty senate days as school and every federal and state holiday but that will account for a 9 month school year. Irregardless how many months or days I to would keep my mouth shut about pay raises making the kind of money with the benefits they are making. You don't get many chances nowadays to have benefits and paid holidays on any job let alone a retirement plan paid by someone who never worked a day for the state or county.
Just look at the surcharge on your auto or homeowners insurance. via WVEA. Also its really a scam when you don't have anyone watching over the hen house so to speak as firings are unheard of in the teaching profession. Otherwise they get by with whatever they want when they want and how they want. Even a herd of cattle have a boss to keep them inline but not in the school system its called Administrative Leave or paid HOLIDAYS.
