re turtlehead flower: nice webpage. didn't realize what i had stumbled onto. didn't realize the flower was rare. checked again there's three plants, only one bloomed. been watching this plant for 3-4 yrs. ubusal to me, likely would not be noticed by most people. just another weed. anyway thanks for the info, might have missed that otherwise.

Please remember Kenneth Holcomb and his family in your prayers. His wife & mother were involved in a car wreck Thursday afternoon. He lays his mom to rest on Wednesday and his wife on Friday.

happy october; was getting groceries today. came up short enough cash for my purchase. a great and grateful surprise. both the clerk at Foodland and the lady behind me, in line, offered me the extra cash i needed for my purchase. didn't get the ladies name but i certainly thank them both.

A freaking eyesore at the end of town that nobody but a bunch of crazy people think it will be a new way to fleece tourist who will flock in in droves to walk across. It will cost thousands to keep it safe and they have already been told it will cost upwards of $20,000 a year for inspections. DUMB DEE DUMB DUMB Just say NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Call it an Extreme Sport & charge the tourists $25 to walk across without a net. Charge 'em $50 if they request a bungee cord for "safety."
Realistically, it can't possibly be any more of a hazard than the bridges we're all still driving across.

waal you could get seasick from the ongoing activity rocking the boat. when standing on the deck of a plane in the air it almost has the same motion as the deck of a ship. a ship floats on water just in case you don't know.

WOuld someone tell crazy Evelyn McGlothlin that the county does not want the old Dundon Bridge the only reason half of the people signed it was to shut her up. If she has all this free time why does she not go home and clean up around her house. I get sick every day driving by that mess. I personally am calling the DNR and Jay Carper today if she has nothing to occupy her time she need to haul trash and care for them poor sheep and animals.

Dear Rose, I just happened to come across your online column,will read all later. I grew up in Clay County in the Big Otter area. I usally visit there at least every 2 years, and always find it rewarding and a feeling of peace.
However, it is very depressing and sad to see that the county is in such a poor state.Growing up there, we didn't pay attention to the landscape. Why doesn't Bryd and the commissioner of the county, clean it up, make owners responsible for keeping their property attractive and neat. Actually, Kings Towing/Garage is a eye sore also.
Do you know that Clay County is the poorest county in WV? Plus people in other counties, look down on it because the way it looks.
I would like your comments on this subject, please my intentions are not to insult anyone.
