Kara Rea Conley, age 17, of Bomont, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013, in Clay County, West Virginia, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.
Born October 1, 1995, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky, Kara is the daughter of Curtis Conley III and wife Shalla Bae of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, and Lee Ann Helvey and husband Christopher of Wallingford, Kentucky.
Kara is also survived by three sisters, Dottie Henson and Heather Conley, both of Morehead, Kentucky, and Brittany Kearns and husband Michael of Bomont, West Virginia; one step sister and two step brothers, Colleen Helvey, Ross Helvey and Devin Helvey, all of Morehead, Kentucky; and paternal grandparents, Arrgo Conley and wife Rita of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, and Miriam Jean Andrews of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Other survivors include nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, extended family members, and friends.
Maternal grandparents, James and Dorothy Henson, preceded her in death.
Kara attended Rowan County schools until recently when she moved to West Virginia where she was enrolled as a senior at Clay County High School. She enjoyed singing, 4-wheeling, helping children with special needs, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Kara was baptized by the Rev. H. G. Pratt at the Clearfield Baptist Church where she had been a member of the youth group.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. H. G. Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Curtis Conley, III, Arrgo Conley, John Conley, Ray Duffy, Jeremy Turner, and Michael Kearns.
Visitation is from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
The Kara Conley Memorial Fund has been established at The Citizens Bank (P. O. Box 1026, Morehead, KY 40351) to provide scholarships in her memory.
