RAMP DINNER SUNDAY, MAY 4th11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
$10 for adults & takeouts, $5 for children
RAMPS, ham, fried potatoes, homemade rolls, green beans, corn, pinto beans, homemade desserts & fresh SASSAFRAS TEA!

Andy Waddell always puts up a nice big garden on his home page every year. But it's not his garden but his brother in laws. Waddell might plant a pepper or two on his own tiny abode.
It wasn't kept secret - you read about it right here! ;)
The HEW ramp dinner is organized & funded by the PTO, which generally consists of 3-4 parents who spend their weekends and late nights digging & cleaning ramps for weeks prior to the actual dinner. Then they spend countless hours gathering supplies & rounding up all the volunteers who make the whole thing a success - potato fryers, ramp fryers, roll makers, dessert makers, tea makers - it's a HUGE undertaking. Apparently, this year, advertising was limited to the Free Press, signs & word of mouth. Sincere apologies to those who didn't get the word.
For future reference, the ramp dinner is always the first Sunday in May - mark your calendar & save the date next year!

So there was a ramp dinner at H. E. White school on May 4th huh. Couldn't prove it by me. Why was it kept so secret? Was it only for church goers?
