Mery Christmas To you and your Family Rose. Hope it is a great one.

Thank you very much! Right back at'cha!

It's optimistically looking like we might get a white Christmas this year. I don't plan to leave my house Christmas day, so bring it on!

What happened at the high school?? My high schooler knows nothing about it; my middle schooler is chock full of information! None of it dependable, of course.

Merry Christmas Rose
You little tatter bug!

Merry Christmas everybody fa le la la la la la la la

ROSE said...

LOL Tater bug. That makes me laugh!

Are y'all gettin' this wind down in the holler? Up here on top of the mountain ... well, I'll just say this - y'all better watch out, 'cause we might get blown down into the holler any minute! LOL

The shopping's done!! Even Christmas dinner is ready for preparation! & I didn't even have to pass Elkview today. Life is grand, man, just grand!!

If your mountain top is blowing like my mountain top Ms Rose just everything you own thats outside will be in the holler when daylight comes tomorrow.

Christmas decorations blowing towards an open fire if there was one that is.

Do you shop on EBay? I understand you can buy Scarlett Johanson's (sp?) used, snotty tissue there. I don't shop EBay & I don't know who Scarlett is, but if you've got one of those hard-to-shop for people on your Christmas list, there's an idea for you.

At the high school one kid got stabbed and one got beat up.

Anonymous said...

that's all the details you have?

De-tails, that's what counts. seen on the news where scientists are examining the below de-tail area of SANTAs reindeer to see which has cojones and which hasn't. Didn't say, but I expect the US Congress has set aside money fso that the loser in the debate can bail out.

merry christmas from cayman no snow 87 degrees though

ROSE said...

Merry Christmas from the top o' the mountain! Dreary, drizzley & 37 ... we got y'all beat by a mile! LOL

Anonymous said...

I'm a little suspicious of that last comment. 37 indeed! Look out, we're tryin' to move again. I love moving.

ROSE said...

WOOOO HOOOOO!! Might I suggest Gettysburg? It's got very little to recommend it aside from the fact that it's my favorite place on the planet & I'd visit often. Isn't that exaclty what you're looking forward to?? BAHAHAHAHAHA LOL

Or ... I've never been to Savannah & the only way I'm ever gonna get there is if I have beer-offering family to host my visit. Ditto with ... well, just about everywhere else I want to visit.

Your move is all about me, me, ME, right???

Only 4 shopping days left!!

hey Rose I can get a six pack if that's all you want. TOO OLD FOR ANY LUV ACTION. Conversation that's the name of the game. Me for AZ, New mex. they got bears, squashes, spoad toads and cacti and lost gold mines. and i forgot green fireballs. ah, Xmas and dreams and Santa with a full sleigh. where can we meet you little tater bug.

Anonymous said...

my request for Xmas, after being constipated for years; please make my ice cream bucket runneth over.

Anonymous said...

merry Xmas to all.

ROSE said...

LOL LS, I'm not the one with the beer requirement. I'm just the one who wants to choose vacation hot spots that nobody else is interested in. I prefer beauty & history & such like that; the rest of my family prefers ... well, adrenaline rush. LOL

It's gonna be interesting when the sun comes up & it's light enough out to see what all the wind blew in. Or over. Or off.

Sara the School Messenger evidently called our house last night around 11 or so to let us know about the 2-hour delay. I'm not sure if the wind blew hard enough to drown out the phone or if we're all just so exhausted, we slept through it, but it's nice to see she's timely this time!

It's FRIGID this morning. Hope y'all are bundled up & keeping warm!

Here we go again-

Im seeing school closed on channel 8 and 2 hr delay on the
"Official Clay Co Schools Website"

Which is it?

Here's a bit of info to store away for future use. If you leave wet clothes in the dryer & there are 30+ mph winds & it's 0 degrees outside with a wind chill factor in the negative numbers, your clothes *will* freeze. Solid.

Here's another bit of info to store away. If you register an account online & then later ditch that email address & this account is with Direct TV, just go ahead & slit your wrists. Dealing with customer service will drive you to it anyway & if you just skip the call, you'll at least die happier.

Anonymous said...

Ah Ms Rose just thank Clinton and Gore for sending that job over to India under NAFTA. Store that everytime you call any services in this country and it don't matter if you Push One for English because you will get one that don't understand a thing you are saying anyway.

I am from the old school and can't understand a thing they say so I don't know if I am selecting CTRL+ALT and Delete when I talk to these friggin idiots. Sometimes I think commiting sideways is a good choice rather then argue with the door knob or in this case a whatchamycallit from India. I finally wrote to Direct TV and told them that if I had one more channel to come up missing the next thing that was leaving my place was Direct Tv.

So, good morning y'all. I made it through the night, hope you did. Slept in a chair all night so's the fire would stay warm. water froze off but luckily I had a couple jugs set aside just in case. Learned anew trhat a lap robe will conserve much heat. Left the computer on all night so the lines wouldn't freeze up. Asyou can see it worked. Now for a big day in "Corn cob city"

ROSE said...

Good morning, all you rays of sunshine!

D'ya suppose the 2-hour delay is to discourage kids from going to school on a day that nothing's going to get done, anyway? If I was calling the shots, I'd just idle the buses in the lot instead of running them, discouraging them further & saving gas at the same time.

I think the NAFTA-job lady I talked to yesterday learned English from the Bronx School of Ebonics.

I think we should send Gore & Clinton on an extended tour of the Middle East - Clinton so he can gather more donations, Gore because it's a proven fact that everywhere he goes spouting off about global warming, that area experiences historic low temperatures & record amounts of snow. I'm sure those Middle Eastern countries would appreciate that, don't you?

Hey, LS, good to see all your tactics worked! When it's this cold out, it takes every trick in the book!

Shewiiieee my apple butter pail froze off and I can't empty it.

It's a holly jolly Christmas
all around our town.
let's try to show a little love
& spread it all around.

try not to be like Buckshot
& drag your lawsuit on for years,
try not to be like Poopy,
leavin' everyone in tears.

try not to be like ol' Waddell
& get your heart all in a bind,
try not to be like Leonard
& show your big behind.

try not to be like Slinky Link,
lovin' just the women,
try not to be like ol' Fat Fran,
lookin' like you're suckin' on a lemon.

try not to be like Mr. Hopkins
& show your talent as a debater.
try not to be like Postelwait
lookin' for love in an elevator.

try not to be like ...

you know what? never mind.
don't bother. just forget it.
there's no point in spreadin' joy
to a buncha freakin' idiots.

just drink up all the eggnog
& insult your mother-in-law.
burp big & loud after dinner
& fart your way down the hall.

do all your shopping at GoMart
get drunk on Christmas day
have a very merry Christmas
... spread some joy along the way.

MERRY CHRISTMAS across the USA and the world. May the Blessings of the season reach one and all.

Gas took another $.10 cent drop today and crude was under $37.00 a barrel. The last time it was at that price gas at the pumps was at $.57 9/10 a gallon for regular. Funny how once it goes up they would have to give it away for West Virginians to see it at that price today.

Merry Christmas! It's around the pool we are today. Love & kisses from our home to yours.

ROSE said...

& a lovely Christmas it's been!

Some of the toys don't work, some of the clothes don't fit, some of the batteries are the wrong size, some of that stuff nobody really asked for, but the food was good, the company was great & fun was had by all!

Now it's time to snuggle up in the new flannel jammies, put on the new fuzzy socks, pile up a plate of leftovers & live the good life!

WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!

Hope your day was just as grand!

had vienna sausage and crackers til evening. then a neighbor brought a nice meal and I thank them very much.

folks there are some out there who think they have tried everything and some who think their money will buy them anything but until an a** wiper has been invented that will fit into an ice cream bucket, well there's just something missing.

A lesson should be learned by the partiers on Procious Maysel road last night. 1. Christmas is NOT about smashing beer bottles over one anothers heads. That just leads to a nice trip to the hospital for both of ya. 2. Ball bats are also not acceptable at a Christmas gathering. 3. Knives should ONLY be used to carve the turkey, not one another and last but not least you know the party is over when the cops and ambulances show up.

Anonymous said...

OMG sounds like the crew from Americas Dumbest Stunts have visited Clayberry. Anyone who thinks their head is tougher then a beer bottle or a ball bat deserves a trip to the ER. How DUMB can you be?

Always have thought the winners (weiners) lived in Clay County. The partys over now.

Who was fighting? I'm sure we could all pretty much guess, but ...

Now starts the countdown to the new year. Hard to believe 2009 is almost upon us.

Anonymous said...

Carbon monoxide ... one man died. 4 or 5 others survived. a 3 year old was kept for observation. to my knowledge all the survivors are going to be okay.

Peach still has a bar down that way and one up spread park. The fight was at someones house tho.1602 Procious Maysel Rd.

during my research, it appeared that all gov. mail destined for clay co. must pass through address 1602. you suppose clay co has a checkpoint for possible terrorist mail destined for gov. offices. ?????????????? damned if I know.

Rodger Holcomb brother to Joey Holcomb, town drunk.
Rodger was hammered in the face, next to the meat shop, before ya get to Bullards Xxon.
Word is he has a mighty sore head!

Johnny Marlin owned the house where the man died. Family named Brown.
I'd say Johnny's in deep doo doo!

Anonymous said...

yep, i'd say whoever owned the house is in trouble. i've heard that it was HUD approved too. Aren't there guidelines they have to go by and certain things have to be in PROPER working order??? Carbon Monoxide detectors???

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. What a tradegy.

aint Thomas Holcomb a brother to Joey Holcomb Wonder iffn theys related to the sheriff. Joey Holcomb aint that the feller that was working for DJE at 3.00 an hour while DJE was remodeling his house with a soc. sec. disability payoff?

Never thought about it before but i'll bet they're still scared of the "corn starch kid" and his possible terrorist activities. Bet the terrorist trappers read everything. Wonder if they got to read that James suicide note. Wonder what's going on in Clayberry today.

long distance phone lines are out. can't call anything but our local number 587 286 ... can't get no one in the 548 or 1-304 way. Sucks bigtime.

No 911 either, I guess you have to call clay control. 587-2554 I believe is their number.

sorry rose, no way to call ya...

ROSE said...

Our power went out just about the time I was starting dinner last night. "Tree down" was the official cause, I think. Did you know an electric griddle running off of generator power will (eventually) produce a lovely spaghetti dinner? Best enjoyed by candlelight, of course!

Very sorry to hear about Brad. Even when it's expected, it's still a shock. Sincere condolences to Evelyn & family.

Know someone that has been drug tested on the job and lost their job? Pass the word to them it is legal for drug testing now that teachers don't have to be drug tested.....The more votes you have on your side the better your chance of staying in office.

This violates your civil rights. I think this is the worst step courts can make not to test people who are closest to the children of this state.

had a call from a fellow inquireing whether I had been diagnosed with having diabetics this evening. when asked directly what he wanted he hung up. MAY be a scam artist looking for a victim. Be warned.
