Today, my little blog turns 4. Four years of moaning & groaning & griping & rumors & threats (mostly aimed at me). Not exactly what I expected when I started out, but ... here's to 4 more years!

WHee Whee looks like the ppl over toward Widen going to get burned out from that fire cant believe the downtown FD wont put out fire on private property what the crap is all the other fires on? dont you think thats funny? seems the locals have to do it themselves pretty funny if you ask me but opinions are like a**holes and everybodys got 1
Thats why it pays not to post your property! We're not going to take it with us when we go anyway. But that is their rule, if it's posted then they can't fight fires. I guess they could, but they charge out the wazoo. It's the greed of people trying to hoard up land to do whatever with, they get it all posted so no one is allowed on it. They make it very clear that NO ONE is allowed to be on the property without permission (or hunt club membership='s $$$$) and they complain because no one will come on the property to fight a fire. Makes no sense to me.

That fire burning on one of the hunt clubs is good practice. Wouldn't it be good if it all burned from Clay to Summersville. Private property does not have to be posted. By law if the boundarys are known it is legally posted already. If the land don't belong to you what business do you have on it to begin with. It don't belong to you stay off it. People have gotten just a little over bearing when it comes to what belongs to someone else. They also think it has to have a No Trespassing sign on every tree to be posted.
People continue to buy 4 wheelers and think they have a right to ride them on any property they wish and some feel they have the deed to that land when they buy the 4 wheelers.
As far as fire departments go they can refuse to come on any land they choose and there is nothing anyone can do about it. They get funds from the taxpayers but they don't have to put a fire out for anyone they choose.
I hate it when I have to work & miss everything! LOL
Most of the property up this way is posted, primarily to keep those who get all likkered up & wreck their 4-wheelers or shoot themselves while they're poachng from suing the landowners.
Seems to me, though, that if there's a fire, the whole purpose of the fire department is to put it out.

The reality of it is, it DOES NOT belong to us in the grand scheme of things. It's ALL going to burn in the end. So why bicker and fight about property lines unless someone is destroying something?
There is no bickering about it if you don't own it stay off of it unless you are invited to be there. Its all about respecting someone and what they have. But it seems this generation has forgotten to respect anything anyone has and most just want to tear it up because someone does own it.
#1 the hunting club is coal mine property owned by big coal companies they list there property under managed timberland with the assessors office and only pay 1/3 the taxes me and you do. Then they lease it to hunting clubs in this case welfare living Mitchell and Peggy Deboard Big Knob Hunt Club. The coal companies charge the hunt club what it costs them for taxes for the lease. Then they do not allow anybody to hunt, walk, hike, ride 4 wheelers on the property. But if we lease our property or an extra home we have to pay commercial taxes on it but the coal companies do not. In Clay COunty I would say hunting clubs cost the county close to 1/2 million dollars each year in taxes. Let the hunt club croanies fight their own fire why should the FD risk their lives and be over in Widen fighting this fire when a wreck or fire might happen in Clay where they could actually save someone.
Umm, I think you are missing the point. It's not really ours! I think people would be less likely to want to tear it up if EVERYONE wasn't so stinkin' greedy. If folks could pass through on a 4 wheeler or on foot without getting a gun pulled on them, they wouldn't be as prone to want to set it on fire!!!
What with deer season coming on, I dont know why anyone would want to be in the woods anyhow.

I want to comment on the last thread, about the fact the it seems the same people are on many different boards. That isn't true, there are many people who want and do care and have tried to be on these boards however if their name isn't from the right families, or that they will close their eyes to all the illegal deals, or follow what the other groups want or need then they are chased off or over looked. Good Ole Boys run this town and I have heard too many times, it's Clay and it's different here, true most of what happens is illegal and still a product of backroom dealings rather than what is right and for the good of our town. So it's not for lack of others wanting to help it's more the fact that they don't have the "right" last name.
So you have called the County Clerks office or one of our Commissioners and requested to be on a public board in this county. I believe this is easy enough to do or check and see if you have by calling any of the above mentioned individuals.
My name was never on the "In List," yet I was asked to serve on a board. I did ... there's a reason I no longer do.

Now as for walking, riding your fourwheelers on somebodys property, Coal company or otherwise if you don't own it you are not to be there. Duke University owns all that hunt club land now and I am sure they can afford their taxes and I am also sure that the last land deal is recorded and the assessor will do her job and get what taxes necessary.
Yes Mitch and Peggy have scammed the welfare system, raised their kids built new homes and rent property to people also. They lease that land and make oodles off it also. And just like anywhere else they have the right to defend that property to death due them part given by the legislature just because people that own land can't be run over top of just because some dummy bought a 4 wheeler and had no land to ride it on.
I to own land, get ran over by 4wheeler owners, pick up trash by the sackfuls, fill in wholes, have to fence where I don't need it, put up gates, continually have to contend with smart mouthed kids who have things coming out of their mouths that I would touch with my hands, and what did I do to deserve this, I worked bought a farm, and tried to be a neighbor to all until I started having to do all the above things. Because I am a farmer, own a farm and work continously but I still have to spend my free time (sundays) picking up garbage, bags of trash, appliances, used tires and anything else people can throw out just because I allow them to walk, ride, go through, or around me. I also have to fight fires set by the same dummies who bought the 4 wheelers with a deed to all the land in Wv coming with it.
If you visit AW's site you will see him doing his thang on the Home page right there in front of everybody theres a picture of him. Perfect picture of him also I would have to say.

Read on AW's site where Stump Morton had filed a lawsuit in Federal court, against Deputy "thumper" Belt, Deadbeat Jeff Ryder. Poopy the Sheriff Holcomb and the Clay County Commission for the beating and the harassment Stump has endured for the past three years. Normally Stump would have left Belt in a ditch somewhere but trying to obey laws of the state has cost him thousands of dollars not to mention having his face beat off by thumper and his 5 cell flashlight. All because of Stump not wanting dirt tracked over his white carpet. As any decent person would remove their shoes entering somebodys home.
I hope that when it is over with Stump will not only get all the criminal charges removed from his record but will also have a nice chunk of change in his pocket. As we all know "COPS" have became a little to "cocky" and have gotten by with beating, intimdating people way to long just due the fact they wear a uniform. They pull guns on you, hit you with a slap jack or night stick or pistol whip you just because they do wear a uniform. Myself I have ZERO respect for them anymore just because they are PRICKS when they stop you, speeding or whatever reason they choose, and if you drive until you find a safe wide spot they really get bent out of shape and are very rude to you. As for myself stopping in a curve or where it would be dangerous for you and your family is stupid but they consider it as obstructing an officer. BS safety first and safety always is the best option. So Stump you go for the GUSTO and maybe the next person they arrest, beat, stop or try to intimidate will have a little respect and get it from them also.

Word has it, when the process server was handing out the lawsuit papers, Poopy refused it, cussed the guy out, and then tried to run him over with the cruiser.
Well thats good if he did that a good excuse for the judge to issue Contempt charges. I hope this knocks all of them off their soap box and brings them back down to a regular human beings level. Maybe with more Federal charges filed for assault with a deadly weapon lodged against Poopys office will also look when Stumps case comes about.

I think that Stump Morton is nothing more then a Pill Head and he deserves to get his Ass and Head pounded. He is the one that seems to be the Cocky one and needs to be brought down a notch. The Guys in the uniform are trying to do the job they were hired to do. If he(Stump) wasn't such a ASS and got a attitude I am sure that he might not have gotten his head beat off (if it even happened) It was prolly a drug deal gone bad.
Nobody deserves to be beat in front of their kids by a freaking cop. And yes it did happen and pill head or not he is still a human being, a citizen, a taxpayer and a parent. Noone has ever charged him for selling dope as its claimed here. Although he has been known to smoke a joint now and then.

Stump was not beating his wife when they went to his house as she had left him already. His son called for child abuse because Stump would not allow him to take a video game from his house. So you get the story straight before flopping your gums together and I bet Stump don't give a rats a** what you think of him.
As far as Slack or Paxton running for sherriff GOD HELP US ALL if either would get it. Both use enough hairspray and won't allow a hair out of place when they are in uniform. Either one would make a good baliff for the courtroom but other then that they are WORTHLESS.

Stump probably free loads now to keep from paying alimony. He was in business for himself for a long time and like the other anon said he probably is a pill head also. But knowing that it don't matter as he will be rich off the county for hiring a bunch of duds as cops.
I have seen a time when some cops would be found in a ditch for what they done to Stump Morton and don't think for a minute he wouldn't do it again if it became necessary. Wouldn't be the first time and it won't be the last either. I would almost bet if they don't "fix" the trouble makers they to will be in a ditch somewhere compliments of some good ole 70's boyz. If trooper Rumball was still around here he would tell you its not fun at all being on the wrong end of the stick.
I'm a little confused by the bond allocation limitations mentioned in the advisories section. what does that mean? who issues the bonds and who eventually gets the money? who is the people delagated to supply the money to pay off the bonds???????????????????? BAIL ME OUT UNCLE SAM BAIL ME OUT.

All you ladies got to get ready for Wally World visits this week since hubby will be off to deer camp. Good place to find you a nice looking hunter of the two legged kind. Kinda spice things up for another year.
