BOO!

Hundreds of years before the birth of Christ, the Celts observed a festival on October 31st. The Celts and their priests, the Druids, celebrated Samhain, a festival that marked the eve of the Celtic New Year, which began on November 1.

The Celts believed that during Samhain, the veil separating the living from the dead was at its thinnest. They believed that on the evening of October 31, evil spirits and the souls of the dead passed through the barrier and entered the world of the living. Departed family members would revisit their earthly homes.

Samhain became the Halloween we are familiar with when Christian missionaries attempted to change the religious practices of the Celtic people. In an effort to wipe out paganism, the Church decided that Instead of honoring evil spirits and the souls of the dead, they should recognize the saints or hallowed ones who had lived godly lives.

In 835, Pope Gregory IV moved the celebration for all the martyrs (later all saints) from May 13 to November 1. The night before became known as All Hallow’s Even or “holy evening.” Eventually the name was shortened to the current Halloween.

Wonder if they dressed up in strange lookin outfits way back then, maybe they allready looked strange.

ROSE said...

Of course they did! The scarier the costume, the greater the chance of fooling an evil spirit into leaving you alone.

halloween=devil worship

Anonymous said...

The Devil made me do it.

Here in Clendenin there is an actual witches coven. I'd be more impressed with them if they weren't my neighbors.

Anonymous said...

Hey Rose! I thought running around smelling like Big Foot pretty much made folks leave you alone.

ROSE said...

Lots of people around here run around smelling like Bigfoot & nobody seems to care! LOL

Maybe if you bought the High Priestess a new cauldron, she'd be nicer to you.

I don't think Halloween is devil worship at all. It's a scam perpetuated by dentists everywhere.

Did you know Harry Houdini died on Halloween in 1926? Legend has it he was murdered because he was an international spy.

Don't worry if his spirit shows up at your house tomorrow night, though. He'll let himself out.

Danny Suit, age 32, condition deceased, how self inflicted.

Anonymous said...

OMG......my thoughts and prayers go out to Lori and the entire Ahart family.

Anonymous said...

Who's Lori Ahart?

Who's Danny Suit?

Anonymous said...

Lori Ahart is the daughter of Rick and Valerie Ahart of Valley Fork. Danny is Lori's husband.

Anonymous said...

Sorry that should have been Lori Suit.

ROSE said...

HAPPY NOVEMBER!!

I don't think I know the Suites, but what a tragedy.

Don't steal all your kids' trick or treat loot at one time ... most bosses won't accept "upset stomach" as a valid call-in-sick excuse for the rest of the week...

Anonymous said...

Hey Rose honey, how many of them goodies did you snathch from the kidies? We no you like your sweets.

Anonymous said...

I was with Danny for several hours a couple days ago and I have a hard time thinking this was self inflicted. He was talking about the upcoming wrestling season and he was excited...I mean he was really excited. He was laughing and happy the whole time...not a care in the world. Either this was an accident or something very tramuatic happened in the 48 hours since I saw him. Or he was putting up one hell of a front to everyone.

ROSE said...

Pfffft. My kids know to hide the good stuff immediately. I just skipped the middleman & stocked up on all the chocolate KMart has on sale. LOL

BUT ... the kids are on their way to school now & I know where the peanut logs & Mary Janes are ... forget the coffee - I'm going to work on a massive sugar high! BAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Anonymous said...

So was it self inflicted or not?

Anonymous said...

Some one go over to Boumount and check in on Rose, she may have ate her self into a frizzy by now, might not even recognize her by now.

Anonymous said...

If her died from a 40 cal. bullet, it must of been a black powder riffle, and more dangerous for accidental firing. Some have no saftey guard on them.

Anonymous said...

Doesn't have to be from a rifle, could have been a 40 caliber glock pistol.

Anonymous said...

That's Bomont Dear. It got the name years ago when it was known as B-O Mountain. B-O = body odor

Anonymous said...

What kind of story is that? BO Mountain???

Anonymous said...

Sounds like a funny, typical one to me.

ROSE said...

Butterfinger, Raisinets, Snickers, Reese's Cups, Hershey bars ... there's nothing like spending a day with your best friends. BAHAHAHAHA LOL

Bomont was originally named "Pleasant Retreat" ... perhaps from people with B.O.?

Anonymous said...

Thanks for that "Pleasant" bit of information. BTW it is the only town with that name in the US.

Anonymous said...

I suppose Bomont, Texas doesn't count.

Anonymous said...

No it doesn't because that is Beaumont TX.

Anonymous said...

Hey Rose, ya know what the town of Clay was named when first founded? Most folks don't know it was Marshal for a short time.

Anonymous said...

Marshall for 6 yrs. then Henry for 84 yrs. Wonder if they had hershey bars back then?

ROSE said...

I didn't know it was ever called Marshall! Was there a person named Marshall it was named for? Why'd they change it so many times?

They couldn't have had Hershey bars around, because Mr. Hershey didn't come up with that decadent little bit of heaven until 1900.

Anonymous said...

Interesting reading, use the same URL each time and just change the name of the county. http://www.shgresources.com/wv/counties/clay/

Anonymous said...

Rose, how is that you don't know the original name of your beloved county but can click off the date (probably down to month and day) the Hershey bar was invented?

Girl, you really should get some professional help with that chocolate addiction.

I'll contact you privately and tell you where you can send all the chocolate you currently have on hand. Ya know, just to get it out of the house so you won't be tempted.

Just tryin' to help.

ROSE said...

Thank you for your concern. I know I have a problem, I admit I have a problem & I'm trying to control my problem. I'm enrolled in a 12-step program for chocolate addicts. I highly recommend this program:

Step 1:
Randomly choose candy bar from overflowing 5-lb bucket on desk (deciding between fun size, snack size or full size is up to individual preference).

Step 2:
Quietly unwrap the chocolate bar & eat it at whatever pace is most enjoyable for you (sometimes, if time allows, I chew. This is especially beneficial when nuts and/or raisins are present).

Step 3:
Repeat Steps 1-3 twelve times.

teeheehee

Anonymous said...

Rose, for most people I would recommend more chocolate moderation than you employ. However, since you seem to have the metabolism of a gazelle (or a very good workout program) eat away!

Anonymous said...

By the way, if Mr. Rose ever gets crazy and decides to run away and join the circus or something keep this in mind: I have chocolate...and flowers...and I bathe regularly.

Just sayin'.

Anonymous said...

Dear Boy, what's regularly Saturday night?

Anonymous said...

Well, not EVERY Saturday night.

But most.

Izzat enuff?

ROSE said...

Chocolate moderation?? Look, I've heard that hell is a chocolate-free zone. Just in case I don't make it to heaven, I want to at least have chocolate on my breath. Eternity's a loooooooong time.

Chocolate, flowers AND regular baths? WOW!! See, that's why Mr. Rose will never run away & join the circus - he doesn't even have to worry about flowers & regular bathing ... BAHAHAHAHA LOL

Anonymous said...

Shoot, I knew it was too good to be true.
Guess I'll just take my chocolate and move along.

ROSE said...

WAIT! Don't be hasty! There's nothing wrong with having a contingency plan. Just leave that chocolate here before moving on & maybe I'll remember it someday ...

It ain't natural to love choc'lut that much.

What did Randy Scoonhover do? see he back in jail again,

Anonymous said...

What he's allways done, show his A$$ again an sellin his own meds. The courts have officially labled him crazy now. He is sittin in jail awaitin an opining in a nut house. No spots avalible, so this keeps him off the streets. Hurray for the courts, and I approve of this message.

ROSE said...

It's sad that he's crazy, but if our jails are overcrowded with meth heads & the "nut houses" are overcrowded with Charles Manson type people, where does Randy fit in?

Anonymous said...

Maybe I should of used the word s incompitent to stand trial, but nevertheless, same difference.

Anonymous said...

Don't worry Rose, they sell chocolate in the jail store, he won't be treated to inhumainly.

ROSE said...

Jail has a store?? I pictured all the black market stuff being passed between bars after lights out. I guess I need to get out more. teeheehee

So what happens to people who aren't competent to stand trial but are seemingly insane? Is THAT what's overcrowding our jails??

Anonymous said...

My dear Rose,
Criminals are what's overcrowding our jails. The scourge of meth combined with a complete loss of morals and values among the younger generation (as well as a significant portion of older generations) are serving to create chaos in once peaceful communities. If you look at the rate of recitivism the offenders obviously aren't being rehabilitated and let me stress it's not for lack of trying. Our society spends copius amounts of our tax dollars trying to rehabilitate people who simply refuse to change. Yes, the jails are overcrowded. Maybe when these miscreants have to sleep standing up because of lack of room they'll decide that maybe this isn't a very nice place to be and adjust their behavior accordingly.

Until then keep packin' 'em in, give 'em a bologna sandwich for dinner and make 'em wear pink pajamas.

Anonymous said...

i thought they stood up because their butts are sore.

Anonymous said...

Jails are a fine place to be considering that everything is free there. You get three squares a day, free heat and cooling. You don't have to worry about gas or electric bills. You can sit alone in your 8x10 or go to the recreation area. Do about anything you want for free as it comes off the taxpayers back to support them.
You don't have to worry about where the next meal is coming from or worry about if your clothes are in style. You have good heat in the winter and they have to provide you with an air conditoned place to stay and the temperature has to be kept at one certain degree or somebody gets in trouble. Now as far as Randy Schoonover is concerned he is "crazy like a fox" and will do anything to get out of trouble and to keep from spending anytime in jail for his wrong doings. I bet where they send him is some type federal establishment with all the modern convienences that you will find in any ritzy motel. Probably have his girlfriend there on weekends and play golf all week or whatever else he wants to do. Yep Jails and nut houses are not so bad when you think about all the free stuff you get to enjoy.

Anonymous said...

i'd like to know where you get your information. i need a couple good PR experts that don't care about the truth. although influence and money along with the degree of the crime has much influence i'm sure. since i wasn't well endowed all this didn't help, didn't help me although i wasn't deliberatly abused.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps there are those of us who do have a skewed perception of the conditions inside the jail.

I wonder if it's because...WE DON'T COMMIT CRIMES AND GET SENT THERE!!!

See how easy that is? No worrying if your family has enough money or influence to get you off. No worrying if the judge will give you a harsh sentence. No trouble getting a job after doing the time.

Are you getting this? Would you like me to repeat it slowly?

Anonymous said...

Right on, exactly right. Too bad the perps haven't ever reached your level of maturity to fathom those facts.

Inmyhumbopinion - I don't agree with your opinion on how much money "society" spends on rehab for inmates and how the inmates are just to disinterested or lazy or refuse to accept it. In fact if you read further into your Intro. to Criminology book you'll see that not only the government, but private industries spend "copious" amounts of money to build new prisons and jails for the purpose of housing more inmates because it's enormously profitable. Rehabilitation has very little to nothing to do with prison and vise versa. Rehabiliation doesn't make money for anyone it only costs money. If the same amount of money was put into rehab that was put into building prisons and maintaining prisoners this would be a different world. Study some more, mid-terms are coming up! By the way it's "recidivism". If you're gonna use big words spell them correctly.

Anonymous said...

Hey Rose, I think we got us a copy cat.

Anonymous said...

hey sucker, gov. sucker, welfare rat. i didn't commit a crime. i was put in there to cover up for a federal official who did commit a crime. tried to extort money from me, using the US mail and his federal office to intimidate me into paying it. so the federal court put me in prison for a year to cover for their fellow worker and their FREEMASON lodge brother.i expect you're one of them goodie-goodies out front but underneath you're probably just as corrupt as the federal court was.

ROSE said...

LOL Copy cats are lurking everywhere, LBS.

I wonder how many of us are technical criminals? It doesn't matter if you haven't been caught, if it's against the law & you've done it, the law is no less broken just because you got away with it.

There's a lot of money to be made in lobbying. Obviously, there are some very strong opinions here. Y'all should look into going to work for various congressmen & delegates.

Anonymous said...

Y'all should look into going to work for various congressmen & delegates

From what I have seen lately I don't think I want to assume the position,(bend over a chair) and work for any of them. I say bring back the death penalty and get rid of the slogan "Do the Crime Do the Time." Use a new one "Kill 'em all let God sort em out."

And I do agree money and influence does have a lot to do with how you do your time. Whats the deal with bringing in a "Special Judge" I wonder if he was wearing boots so he could demostrate the use thereof "Goat Herding." Just goes to show you how SPECIAL money and influence works.

Anonymous said...

Oh by the way using them big ole words don't impress me one bit just gives STUPIDITY a new meaning

And now on a more cheerfull subject, hope everyones day is going just fine, all but for a small power outage this morning.Just remember Christmas is just around the corner, so lets all please stay in a good mood, expecally for the kids.

Big words are only impressive if you know what they mean & use them in the proper context. Oh, and spell them correctly.

I think the Marines already took that slogan, Anon. But I'm all for putting the Marines in charge of our judicial system. They tend to cut out all the BS & just git 'er done.

Anonymous said...

They don't use big words neither.

Hey Rose! What do you think the beds are like in the regional jails?

ROSE said...

Stinky & disgusting.

I'm sure there are health dept. regulations pertaining to how often they have to change the sheets & blankets, but those mattresses are used.

Anonymous said...

A 2 inch thick mattress on a concrete slab makes for a heck of a good nights sleep, but then again they don't ever turn off the lights in the cells.

Anonymous said...

And did I mention, if the slabs are full, they put you on the floor. Wonder what kind of health dept. guide lines are there?

Anonymous said...

Don't break the law and it won't matter. If you want soft beds, sleep in your own!

If half you morons had a brain you would be dangerious. You think jail is a country club? Golf!!!!

Jail is a living hell 24 hours a day. This country has more people in jail per capita than any other country in the histroy of the world. THink about that...more that the Romans, the Monguls, the USSR, the Chinese. Were number one. Why? Do you think we are a society of thugs and killers? Are the the worst histroy has ever seen?

Or maybe we are the victim of a system that is desgned to remove the disposable from amoung us and imprison them. These prisoners are made more and more often to work for there keep in privatised prisons. We are making a modern day Gulag and nobody cares. Put em in jail and throw away the key is the chant untill they are knocking at your door one day.

The cop looked at her and said, "Lady, it's your air freshener!"

Anonymous said...

Why do you think they call it dope? Because it's for dopes...

Anonymous said...

what you don't seem to understand is that we have a two-tiered law system. if you're in the favored class there is a different penalty for a crime than if you are in the unfavored class.

also the halfway house, most people think this is a break given good prisoners. not so. the halfway house is nothing but "a slave labor camp". propaganda makes it look good. you must get a job. however i slipped through some cracks and was exempted because of my age.

not only must you get a job but the prison system takes a weeks "gross" wages each month. leaving the prisoner to pay withholding and other costs from their other income.

as for working while in prison. the prisoner is assigned a job, for which they are paid $ .12 an hour. when released to the halfway house i had 100 hrs. coming. for which i was given $12.00.

after 2yrs. they qualify for a factory job, within the prison. for which they get minimum wage, i believe.

and contrary to pouplar belief they do have political prisoners and people who have been discriminated against. and since our judicial system is controlled by the FREEMASON mob there are prisoners who are there because the FREEMASON mob doesn't like them. such as myself.

Anonymous said...

"Are the worst histroy has ever seen?"
What kind of question is that? How is anyone supposed to answer it?

"Put em in jail and throw away the key is the chant untill they are knocking at your door one day."

i have always wondered why lone stranger has been down on the free masons. now i know.

he is an ex con. its a proven study that once a person becomes a thug or criminal he will be one for a lifetime. roughly 80% of people that go to the pen will be back in the pen sometime in their lifetime. so lone stranger without any of us knowing before that he was a con showed it by bashing the masons. men that have some type of belief, vision, and values. things that most convicts will never have. jealousy at its best isnt stranger

i am not part of that organization, but everything that i have read about them is that they stand for all the things our country is founded on. that goes to show why so many of our founding fathers were part of them. they do have alot to do in our government but i dont see the connection to all the hair brained conspiracies that the stranger dreams

Anonymous said...

Help Rose Help! We seem to be in a quagmire here, if thats the right word for it.

Anonymous said...

Better a quagmire than a Gulag!

Anonymous said...

i am not part of that organization, but everything that i have read about them is that they stand for all the things our country is founded on.

I think you need to read the Masons oath then come back and tell us just what part of our country was founded on protecting a Brother Mason even if he commits Murder. And yep I know why Lone Stranger is so down on any organization that would stand for such an order.
I have read the oath and also know who in Clayberry frequent the doors to that lodge, and yes they will cover up anything even MURDER for their own.
Lone Stranger could go back to jail I suppose but I bet they won't send him off to the "country club" setting they are sending our fine, upstanding Senator Schoony to because he got caught pushing drugs which we the people in Clayberry County forced him to do just like we forced him to take bribes from LeRose's over in Summersville. You would think he would have enough sense to stay away from Nicholas County as they trick him every time he goes over there.

For the most part, the U.S. rate is three to eight times that of the Western European nations and Canada.

England 139 per 100,000 citizens.
Norway 59 per 100,000 citizens.
China 111 per 100,000 citizens.

USA 724 per 100,000 citizens.

724...think about that. Let it soak in for a second.

Are we that bad? Are we as Americans more prone to be criminals? Are we the most unlawful gathering of people in all of history?

If not, then it must be something else. Wake up people. Its your goverment.

Anonymous said...

The US rate of what? What are you talking about?

ROSE said...

OMG!

Wow. Thank you, Criminology 101 Student, for sparing us all the expense of having to buy the textbook ourselves (available on EBay for 99 cents). You're going to love forensics class! You should add some legalese to your repertoire. Some of the most popular words among lawyers are: henceforth, hitherto, heretofore and accordingly.

Having never been a guest of the judicial system, I can't speak with any authority on its offered comforts or lack thereof. However, jail and prison are both intended as punishment. Our system will never be perfect. Innocent people will continue to go to jail. Guilty people will continue to walk the streets. Controversy will always abound as to which crime deserves which punishment.

Perhaps it's my redneck roots showing, but I believe that if you find yourself in jail, you need to suck it up & deal with it. If you don't like it, don't make return reservations. If you think your punishment doesn't fit your crime, hey, welcome to America - it's the best we can do. If you feel a crime coming on, start saving your pennies for a good lawyer.

A quick survey of arrestees from AW's site suggests that The System isn't our only problem; we have a serious lack of common sense. It didn't really appear that many of those crimes were unavoidable. None of this discussion would be possible if people kept their hands to themselves, got their highs from life in general & made a living instead of a quick buck.

Then again, we're a country more concerned with the civil rights of criminals than we are the privilege of our law abiders living a safe, happy, crime-free life.

Civil rights my big ol' a*$.

Anonymous said...

Hey crime expert if you really want to show what you know why don't you break those statistics down to how many prisoners are female and how many are male. How many are white and how many are not. How many inmates are doing time for drug related crimes as opposed to anything else. You might as well do it; it's gonna be on the test.

YESTERDAY and WINTER

It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. And yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all... and I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams.

But, here it is...the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise. How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my babies go? And where did my youth go?

I remember well... seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like.

But, here it is...

My age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be. Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore...it's mandatory! Cause if I don't on my own free will...I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so, now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things. But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last, this I know, that when it's over...its over! Yes, I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done and things I should have done. But indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done. Its all in a lifetime...

So, if you're not in your winter yet . let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life, please do it quickly! Life goes by quickly. So, do what you can today, because you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not! You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life ... so, live for God today, and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember.

"Life is God's gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to God, and those who come after. Make it a fantastic one." LIVE IT WELL!!

Amen, Non-hollering Person. Here's another thought to mull over as you go through the seasons of life: The only person who will be there every minute of every day is YOU. Be sure you treat you well & make you happy.

Unless, of course, you have mulitple voices in your head & various personalities to contend with ... we'll add that to the syllabus at a later date.

First, thank you for the correction to the spelling of recidivism. I say that with all sincerity. Like it or not, many times we are judged by the words we use, both written and oral. I have probably spelled that word wrong every time I have used it and it's good to know the correct spelling.
That being said, would you please provide me with facts to support your opinion that incarceration is a for profit business. Again, I say that with all sincerity. If that is truly the case it needs to be exposed so we may go about trying to change it.
From everything I've heard or read incarceration drains our communities of much needed dollars that could be used for numerous worthwhile causes. Who profits from jailing criminals? How much are the profits? Where does this money go? Again, if you could provide FACTS and not simply opinions I would be much obliged. I try to base my opinions on factual evidence and if I am wrong in this case I will humbly admit it.
Knowledge is a powerful thing.

Recently, a California website ran an e-mail forum (a question and
answer
exchange) where the topic was "Policing the Community."

One of the civilian email participants posed the following question:
"I would like to know how it is possible for police officers to
continually harass people and get away with it?"

From the "other side" (the law enforcement side) a cool cop with a
sense of humor replied: "It is not easy. In California we average one
cop for every 2,000 people. About 60% of those cops are on patrol, where
we do most of the harassing. One-fifth of that 60% are on duty at any
given moment and are available for harassing people. So, one cop is
responsible for harassing about 10,000 residents. When you toss in the
commercial, business and tourist locations that attract people from
other areas, sometimes you have a situation where a single cop is
responsible for harassing 20,000 or more people each day.

A ten-hour shift runs 36,000 seconds. This gives a cop one second to
harass a person, and three-fourths of a second to eat a donut AND then
find a new person to harass. This is not an easy task. Most cops are not
up to it, day in and day out. It is just too tiring. What we do is
utilize some tools.

They are as follows:

PHONE: People will call us up and point out things that cause us to
focus on a person for special harassment. "My neighbor is beating his
wife" is a code phrase we use. Then we come out and give special
harassment.

Another popular one on a weeknight is, "The kids next door are having a
loud party."

CARS: We have special cops assigned to harass people who drive. They
like to harass the drivers of fast cars, cars blasting music, cars with
expired registration stickers and the like. It is lots of fun when you
pick them out of traffic for nothing more obvious than running a red
light. Sometimes you get to really heap the harassment on when you find
they have drugs in the car, are driving drunk, or they have an
outstanding warrant.

RUNNERS: Some people take off running just at the sight of a police
officer.
Nothing is quite as satisfying as running after them like a beagle on
the scent of a bunny. When you catch them you can harass them for hours.

LAWS: When you can think of nothing else to do, there are books that
give ideas for reasons to harass folks. They are called "Laws" -Penal,
Vehicle, Health and Safety, Business and Professional Laws, to name just
a few.

They spell out all sorts of things for which you can really mess with
people. After you read the law, you can just drive around for a while
until you find someone violating one of these listed offenses and harass
them.
Just last week I saw a guy smash a car window. Well, the law says that
is not allowed. That meant I got permission to harass this guy.

It is a pretty cool system that we have set up, and it works pretty
well. We seem to have a never ending supply of folks to harass. And we
get away with it. Why?

Because the good citizens who pay the tab actually like the fact that we
keep the streets safe for them.

Next time you are in my town, give me a single finger wave. That will be
a signal that you wish for me to take a little closer look at you, and
then maybe I'll find a reason to harass YOU !

Inmyhumbleblahblah, you need to search the archives. We already had this discussion. You were likely part of it. You're being redundant.

Anonymous said...

Get it the way you get everything else.

G-O-O-G-L-E.

Anonymous said...

I was not part of any previous discussions on this subject, but if the material has already been covered I'll certainly try to look it up.
I gather from your response that the facts I requested are not to be found.
Just a hunch.

Anonymous said...

IMHO- The anon that suggested you look it up is not me, the anon who said that some prisons are run for profit. Although there are plenty of venues to research facts backing my "opinion" up, I'll get a couple of links. But you'll have to wait a bit, my lunch hour is up and I have to go back to work for now. But let me ask you this - if they aren't doing it for profit, why do private businesses purchase prisons? For the goodness of all? I don't think so.

Anonymous said...

Did you check the stickers on your luggage?

Anonymous said...

Okay, okay. I did the research and, indeed, for profit incarceration is alive and well. I honestly was unaware of this and will humbly admit when I'm wrong. I don't think, however, this fact detracts from the underlying problem that overcrowded jails are the result of too many people committing crimes. It doesn't take a Rhodes Scholar to figure that one out.

ROSE said...

Wow, SB, you asked exactly what I was thinking, but it only took you 11 words. How do you do that?? teeheehee

Are all the opinions offered? Rebuttals? Anyone? Anyone??

Sounds as if the pretty blog master is trying to stir the pot.

BTW, Rose, why won't your blog allow html codes? Do you have them disabled or is it the blog service?

Yes tomorrow Tuesday November the 9th is election day and do the world a favor vote against Robert C unless its to put him in the funny farm, old folks home or to get a pair of 500lb concrete shoes which he really deserves along with the rest of congress. Since he is a sho in why waste your vote on him anyway. No matter what your choice is vote against Robert C Byrd and be proud when you vote.

Anonymous said...

And why IMHO, do you think the prisons are so overcrowded?? You listed minimal statistics, but if you were to break them down and see who is and why there are so many, incarcerated, you might gain some insight as to why nothing is done to rehabilitate drug addicts. Look at all the crimes they commit. Everything from posession to burglary, id theft etc. They make great repeat offenders. If they live in a "3 strikes and you're out" state (google it, you'll find it), they become nothing more than dollar signs. Like I said to begin with, a large prison population makes a few people a lot of money. Who makes money from rehab? It's not about crime and it's not about people; it's about money. now dont forget to reference me "Anon 6:57" (or so) on your term paper.

Not stirring the pot, Humble Opinion; getting ready to move on & just want to make sure nobody gets stranded over here, arguing a moot point all by themselves.

Rose you remind me of a child who is not getting enough attention.

Someone comes up with a line of thought that doesnt revolve around the size of your ass or your wonderful sence of humor and you cant change the subject quick enough.

LOL

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA indeed.

My blog; my rules.

Furthermore (another popular lawyer word), a week is about the useful lifespan for any post & 140 comments is just about the limit to what anybody's really willing to scroll through.

If you'd like to carry on (& on & on) about something you've seen on this blog & want to continue long after anyone's interested, might I once again suggest Make Your Own Rules.

Well, Rose, I'm here and we're still on this post. It is time to move on, so get to it! But, might I make a suggestion to everyone? Stop using anon. It gets a little hard to follow to which anon people are refering to and we gotta go searching post times. You dont have to be registered and login to post. Just choose "other" and type any user name you wish and dont put a password. Posts just the same and you can change it everytime ifn you want!

See? Simple Simon. No big words here!

She's a bossy b*tch ain't she? I want to talk about Rose's arse some more.

Anonymous said...

I heard it was cracked and has a hole in it.

Anonymous said...

To: (yet another *yawn*) anon: why would you have so much interest in Rose's tush, when you so clearly are a fine example of a dumb arse all on your own?

Anonymous said...

Apparently Rose's backside is more interesting to talk about than something like a silly color and word puzzle.

Anonymous said...

You'd better believe it!

ROSE said...

Oh, silly me! I thought this post was dead!

Obviously, SirHenry, this stuff doesn't have to be "interesting" - some people will obviously talk about anything! LOL

Get out & vote for the tush/dairy air/arse of your choice.

Here it is a little past the noon hour and I have only got to vote 5 times today so far. Too many new people working the polls this time around and they just insist that voting more then once or twice is not the normal tally in Clayberry. I surely hope someone explains things to the new workers before the next election comes along.
I would like to vote against Byrd at least ten more times today but to do that I will have to drive over to Harrison as they are getting nervous about me voting so much at Clay and Lizemore areas. Said they got into trouble with the Secretary of State back in the May primary. Get out and vote people Early, Often or at least until you are satisfied.
