Will you vote? Have you already? Personally, I'm just looking forward to regular commercials again ...

"Nothing" is most assuredly better than the conversation we left behind!

Anonymous said...

LOL!! Some people get all hung up about that kind of thing. Who has the time! Well I do today, but I think that dead horse has been kicked enough!!

Off to vote!

If you have the means to get out and vote please do so. Many men and women have fought and continue to fight for this important right and duty.

Anonymous said...

If it really mattered, they wouldn't let you vote!
and
It's election time, so now the facts, while interesting, are irrelevant.
Irrevelant?
Oh Well.

Rose, what wrong with the right behind? I thought you wanted that thread to die a natural death.

ROSE said...

Um ... huh?

Lvoe makes the world go 'round & 'round & 'round ... teeheehee

I voted; did you? How many of you wrote in somebody whose name wasn't on the ballot? They don't count those at all, ya know.

just for fun...homemade christmas ornament dough recipe.
2 cups baking soda
1 cup cornstarch
1 1/4 cups cold water
mix ingredients, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is the consistency of wet mashed potatoes.
Turn it out onto a plate, cover it w/ damp cloth & let cool. When cool, knead until smooth. Seal it in bag & store in fridge til u r ready 2 use it.
Shape xmas ornaments by hand or flatten dough and use cookie cutters to cut shapes. Make a hole to put a hanger thru. Dry overnight or heat it in oven@ 250 degrees for 15 min. If not comp. dry, check at 5 min intervals til it is.
Dried pieces can be painted with water colors, poster paint, or felt tip pens. Finish with a coat or 2 of clear nail polish & they'll last for years.

LOL I wonder ... if everybody who visits this blog was in the same room at the same time, would the conversation still sound like this??

Hey Rose, it's a sad state of affairs so so little turn out to vote, from our little county. Even my black Butt made it to the poles, and you know our claim to fame is just laying around and doing little. Now it looks like the white folks around here have done the same. Sad is'nt it?

ROSE said...

It is, indeed, a cryin' shame. Especially since we have so many bellyachers around here.

I will admit, though, that few people that I voted for won & I don't vote for people who don't have anybody running against them. Somehow, that doesn't seem fair.

The beauty of it all, though, is that when they all screw up (& you know they will!), I can justifiably be among the bellyachers.

Rose (5:32) - The answer to that question from me is YES! If there was enough beer at hand! LOL!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Well Ms Rose I guess you and I voted for the same people as the ones I voted for lost but who cares. I guess I will start a "ink drive" so as not to let Bush run out for his VETO pen which we all know he is going to use just as soon as the DEMRATS quit crowing about taking the country in a new direction. Also we all know that the last time they took the country in a new direction West Virginia moved 400 miles further south from the suction of all the factorys and business moving into Mexico compliments of the Clinton-Gore North American Fair Trade Agreement.

Anonymous said...

Well ever one I voted for lost. But at least I can grumble when they screw up. I think I got that right. Then again no one listen to me befor when I voice my opinion. Oh well, that life.

Anonymous said...

Rose,
If we were all in the same room together most folks couldn't even introduce themselves.

"Hi, I'm anonymous."
"Nice to meet you, I'm anonymous."
"What a coincidence, I'm anonymous, too."
"You can't be anonymous, I'm anonymous."
"Who's that over there?"
"Oh, that's just anonymous."
"What about that other guy?"
"Anonymous, too."
"I'm confused."
"No, you're anonymous."
"I mean I don't understand."
"Me, too."
"Let's just to talk to Rose."
"Should we introduce ourselves?"
"She already knows."

Anonymous said...

Was up in Clayberry and not a parking space to be found this morning. Must have been because the Demorats got congress back. Bet the economy is going to boom now as this was must the first day. Prosperous Clayberry, I bet some of the three business will make at least two dollars today.

Anonymous said...

Well, today wasn't welfare check day.
Must've been all those folks collecting the election bribes they were promised.

ROSE said...

If words were worth anything, the whole world would be prosperous, based on the BS alone. The campaigns are over - let's watch them all keep their promises now, just like they always do.

Only 5 people who post on here?? Man, my anonymous family alone is at least 2 dozen strong! LOL

Anonymous said...

Rose, which is correct?

Get PAST it or Get PASSED it?

I got $5 ridin on the answer.

Anonymous said...

I say why bother with "past" or "passed", just friggin'
get over it!!!! I'll give you $5 bucks to shut the hell up.

Anonymous said...

Pass is a verb, and you don't "get passed" something unless it's passing you. Anymore than you "get eaten" something, or "get written" something.
You can "get eaten" BY something, or "get passed" BY someone--but that's not what your talking about here.
You can, for example, say "I passed the driving level on that game" --but that's not the same as "it was impossible to get passed." If you want to use the verb "pass," you'd write "it was impossible to pass."
You get past something the same way you get up to it, or beyond it. "Past" is ALSO a noun, "the past."
So did you win or lose your 5 bucks?

Anonymous said...

WTF? Who cares?
Thank ya for the english lesson though.

Anonymous said...

WTF?

So what's the answer?

In 400 words or less this time, please.

Anonymous said...

The right one is "past". Gee you guys are hard to please!

Anonymous said...

Sorry to be so technical, I forgot most of you attended Clay Co. Schools! ;)

Anonymous said...

To go beyond whatever the issue is. Get PAST it.

Anonymous said...

Nicely said. You have very good grammer! Teeheehee

Anonymous said...

"grammer"??

Anonymous said...

you so start another post, this one is nowhere

My Grammer died years ago. She was a good woman, though. :P (Yeah, I know...I'm a smart*ss. Couldn't pass that one up. LOL)

ROSE said...

Um ... uh ... I think a new post is a great idea. LOL

Was you question answered, Anon? Or have you passed out trying get past the excess verbiage?

Hey, WVChic! Long time no see!

psssst, Smiley? There are some professional smarta*$$es who hang around these parts - don't get 'em started! LOL

Anonymous said...

Hmmph! Whatever, Rose! You just dont like when someone besides you uses verbiage to show they have brains, too! ;)

Anonymous said...

Just because a person uses verbiage doesn't necessarily mean they have a lot of brains. It could just mean they have a new dictionary and thesaurus; a requirement at most schools, even the U of P.

Anonymous said...

Hey Rose! took a little trip up OH. PA. and darn near made it to the Big apple, and not one time, not even close did I see any gal as Purdy as our little Rose. Imagine that.

ROSE said...

LOL

Actually, Your Royal Hiney, I was expounding upon your verbiage to offer a concise example of proper usage.

If you're going to be so defensiveness, you should anchor your tiara a bit better - it seems a bit cock-eyed. Maybe it shifted that last time you jumped off your high horse to pounce on me.

Hey, Big Fat Fairy, why don't you get a tiara, too? Then you could be Queen of the Fairies!! BAHAHAHA

Aw, Little Afro Santa Man, you're making me blush! WOOOOHOOOOO!!

Anonymous said...

Tiara? Not for me! I prefer a tobaggan.

ROSE said...

How about you just pile your hair on top of your head & stick some rappa bling in it?

Anonymous said...

To the Queen at 7:25: If you are going to pat yourself on the back for using proper verbiage, maybe you should learn how to spell "GRAMMAR".

Anonymous said...

Big fat fairy: You got me! Got a new dictionary for my berfday!
Anon 10:21: my new dikshunary didnt have "grammar" in it. Thanx for the currekt spellun!
Rose: Sorry, didnt mean to pounce, just tryin to be chatty and keep it interestin! ;)

Anonymous said...

better luck next time

SmileyTD said...

Yeah, Rose...I know that there is a plentiful supply of professional smart*sses around here. In the words of the great Mark Twain...

"It is no harm to be an ass, if one is content to bray and not kick." :P hehe

SmileyTD said...

I missed your comment until just now, WVChic. Good to see ya' posting here again. I'm doing alright. (It doesn't do any good to complain. LOL) How are you??

Anonymous said...

Hey Smiley, you ever find some work?

Anonymous said...

Hey, Smiley? I don't make it over that way often - how's the new business doing??

The business is doing pretty well. We are still trying to get things organized, but it's getting better every day. There's been a fair amount of customers, too, considering the weather and the time of year. :) When warmer weather returns, I'd say the the restaurant will do great.

I do have to say...I'm not a big fan of tacos or burritos, but I really like everything we have to offer. It's mostly all homemade (and the prices are good, too). :)
