HAPPY DECEMBER!

If we make it through December
Everythings gonna be all right, I know
It's the coldest time of winter
And I shiver when I see the fallin snow

If we make it through December
I got plans of bein in a warmer town come summer time
Maybe even California
If we make it through December we'll be fine.

Holy tamoly Rose, it's like a fish out of water, this heat wave. Hope how soon it snows so I can get the sled around a bit easier.

It's National World AIDS Awareness Day.

To celebrate, the CDC asks that we all have as much protected sex as possible.

Every read the old testament?

see where the county hoodlums violated the constitutional clause of separation of church and state by holding a religious party in the courthouse. i believe Christs birthday is a religious hodown.
even the judge attended and partook of the goodies. amen

*** cheering and clapping of hands***
yay to sirhenry!!
I thought i must have been the only one in this county that actually READ the constitution. Your are SO correct on the seperation of church and state.
Articl 1 states 'Congress shall make no law RESPECTING an establishment of religion, or PROHIBITING the FREE EXERCISE THEREOF;.....'

Anonymous said...

well i stand corrected, but since i put a lot of time in being available to defend that same constitution that allows draft dodgers to be elected as president i can say so if i wish. a country where the welfarers live better than the veterans where most of the politicians have no morals. wjhere , a few years back, they tried to put locks on restroom doors in the halls of congress so the congressmen wouldn't get caught having sex with the pages. hey keep it up i'm sure we need stay at homes to correct us all when we go wrong.

ROSE said...

The Constitution does, however, say we all have the right to bear arms.

I think all the people who don't understand seperation of church & state should bear their arms at the courthouse. Then the rest of us can celebrate CHRISTmas in peace.

What I wanta knkow is if the US is hellbent on not offending all the ethnic groups (except the Americans it seems), why dont we get their holidays off work too. It seems only faire if I cant wish anyone a Merry Christmas.

ROSE said...

People tell me all the time to have a nice day. If they can tell me what kind of d*mn day to have, I can d*mn sure wish them a merry Christmas.

I think all the non-black people in the world should protest Martin Luther King's birthday.

Democrats should protest Abe Lincoln's birthday.

Black people already protest incessantly, so I think pretty much everybody on the planet has something to protest.

If I've left you out, there's your reason to protest.

Anonymous said...

I protest the protesters.

Its not like they will have a merry Christmas anyway. GOD forbid they ever be happy.

Anonymous said...

Don't be hasty with the protesting of MLK day. That's a paid holiday for us state workers you know.

Kidding! I'M JUST KIDDING!

ROSE said...

Pfffffffft. Every day's a paid holiday for you state workers. teeheehee

Anonymous said...

I protest that remark!

Anonymous said...

I want to be the first to protest this: You hear of the black people protesting slavery and asking for remuneration for the time their ancestors remained in slavery. I protest! Just how many blacks do you think are standing in line to thank ME for MY ancestors who freed them so they can live their American dreams?? Do I get any recognition for MY ancestors? What about a paid holiday for that?

ROSE said...

In recognition of ...

my Cherokee ancestry, I want my land back;

my Irish ancestry, I want some meat to go with all the taters;

my German ancestry ... yeah, well, sorry about that.

Anonymous said...

Hey Rose! them 1/2 pound chocolate bars are only a buck an a quarter over to the spencer wal-mart, glad I took the truck!

ROSE said...

When should I expect you at my house with a delivery??

Anonymous said...

All this talk of protesting makes me nervous...I dont want overthrown ya know...:)

Anonymous said...

If I just say I hope everyone has a long and happy life with enough money to pay the bills and eat will someone protest that? I work everyday for just a little above minimum wage but I have a house (that leaks sometimes) food on the table, healthy children (who make me want to pull my hair out and run naked screaming sometimes, I am sure someone would protest against seeing that lol) and lovely grandchildren. So I consider myself very lucky not to have to depend on welfare or foodstamps (although I am probaly eligible) I would like to PROTEST against people who lie and cheat to get these things I will be honest and eat my taters and beans.

ROSE said...

Amen, sista.

I must admit, though, that this year's turkey (that I just got to cook today! YUM!!) wasn't purchased by my own hard-earned funds. Nope. My husband's employer offers a gift certificate every year to say "Thanks, folks."

Just another benefit of gainful employment.

Anonymous said...

ok...well, i protest your discrimination against liars & cheaters getting foodstamps...they gotta eat too! LOL

YESTERDAY and WINTER

It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. And yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all... and I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams.

But, here it is...the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise. How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my babies go? And where did my youth go?

I remember well... seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like.

Anonymous said...

But, here it is...

My age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be. Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore...it's mandatory! Cause if I don't on my own free will...I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so, now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things. But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last, this I know, that when it's over...its over! Yes, I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done and things I should have done. But indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done. Its all in a lifetime...

So, if you're not in your winter yet . let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life, please do it quickly! Life goes by quickly. So, do what you can today, because you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not! You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life ... so, live for God today, and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember.

"Life is God's gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to God, and those who come after. Make it a fantastic one." LIVE IT WELL!!

ROSE said...

I don't know about the winter of my life, but it's darn sure winter out there this morning! A sizzling 20 according to my thermometer.

ROSE said...

Anon @ 4:58, why don't you name YOUR new website www.bulletinboard.blogspot.com ??

It's so cinchy, even a baboon could do it!!

(Are y'all diggin' the moon?!)

SmileyTD said...

The moon is awesome tonight, Rose. I've been fighting with my camera for an hour, trying to figure out the proper settings to get a halfway decent photo of the sight. Think I'm going to have to break down and buy a filter just for the purpose of taking moon photographs. Tried using my sunglasses, but they only work if you hold them an exact distance from the camera lense...and I can't hold that steady. LOL

ROSE said...

Christmas is coming up & my birthday is June 22 ... no need to wrap those lovely moon shots - you can get some great picture frames for a buck! LOL

There was a beautiful sunset behind our house & that huge orange moon coming up over the mountain in front. Man, oh, man.

It's the little things in life, when God says, "HEY! Watch this! Look what I can do!!" that I love best.

SmileyTD said...

Sure thing, Rose. You'll be the first to get one of the moon photos (as soon as I can manage to take one that's suitable for framing). :P

I missed the sunset this evening, but I know for sure that it, the clouds and the sky were amazing Saturday evening. A fellow photographer told me that it was a "Mackerel Sky". There are some random photos posted on my Flickr account, if you wanna' look at 'em. :) (The link's on my blog.)

P.S. I just noticed that I added and extra letter to the word "lens" up there. *points and simultaneously makes mental note to proofread better* It was bugging me, so I'm correcting myself. LOL

SmileyTD said...

Oh bullsh*t. I did it again with the word "an". How ironic is that? LOL I give up.

ROSE said...

Give yourself a break - I'm the anal retentive one & I didn't even notice! LOL

You've always got beautiful pictures on your sites. I generally end up with headless fuzzies. LOL

Snow's on the way!!

Anonymous said...

Is anal retentive the same as full of excrement?

Anonymous said...

Now Now! Santa Claus reads these comments also!

SmileyTD said...

Thank you for the compliments. One of these days (when I get rich), I'm going to take a photography class. I wanna' learn the "fancy" ways to take photos (and because I end up with headless fuzzies from time to time, as well). LOL

I wouldn't have even said anything about my mistakes, but it drives me crazy when I do that stuff because I DO know proper English. (I just can't type.) :P haha

To the anon at 6:15 AM: there is a difference. Those who are full of sh*t tend to just let it fly. ;)

Anonymous said...

Those who are full of sh*t tend to just let it fly.

I bet the guy from Charleston won't let it fly in Clayberry again after having to pay the kind of price he had to yesterday for a "sh*tty mistake" at the courthouse.
Another fine representation of Clay County Justice. If he had done it on purpose or lived here the results would have been different I bet.

Anonymous said...

hey smileytd get your camera outside and get a shot of the moon it is high overhead towards the west this morning and you won't need filters.

SmileyTD said...

Thank you for the tip, Anon. That was very kind of you. :)
