We were coming home from Gauley Bridge today & 2 ambulances zoomed past us. I think they were headed to Sycamore.
Then we heard there was another suicide.
Then we heard something about a shooting. Totally unrelated to everything else going on.
Good grief.
Two women had smoked some sort of regular cigarette and was unresponsive afterwards, still breathing but not responding. The word also is Ray James was shot either committed sideways or accidental.
The two women were Mona Tinnel and her Daughter Debbie. Seems that the cigarette was laced with something.
Sounds like someone is after them.
It's a little eerie to be reading about the mysterious death of someone you know while there's a commercial on TV for "Charleston's only crematorium."
So I'll just talk about something else instead.

Larry Thomas had a massive heart attack and died in prison several weeks ago. Which in my opinion was just an easy way out for him, considering he murdered someone. I think he should've suffered for a while, just like his victim!

As far as Ray James, one never knows what is going on inside another person's mind. Many people have those extremely overwhelming moments and are able to somehow work through them each time. All it takes is one time of not being able to do so.

I agree that Ray James should be allowed to rest in peace.
But to be quite honest, if Rose does grant your request "anon" that would be only a very small iota of what is being said/whispered/speculated EVERYWHERE else. On the phone, in emails, on the street, grocery store, dollar store. The speculation is already running rampant. Blog or no blog.
Blogs are a place to put your feelings. I think that if you are offended by someone voicing their feelings about his death, then you need not visit this particular blog for a while.
With that being said, let me also say that: I don't mean that I want all manner of trash being spread on here about Mr. James. But I think Rose is super smart, tactful, sympathetic and couretous enough to remove comments that would be completely unnecessary.
The fact remains that the idle chat about his death is already in full swing.
Ray is not being harmed by any of this he hears none of it, sees none of it, and feels no pain. How ever, those family & friends that he left behind are the ones that should be considered.

Ray James had just as much right to die in peace as anybody. I had no control over how he died. He also has every right to rest in peace. I have no control over that, either.
How he rests is ultimately up to how he lived, as it is with all of us. If he left an iota of a crumb on which to build a rumor, you can bet that rumor is halfway to the moon by now, regardless of what's said and/or left on this blog.

MAYSEL — Clay County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a man’s death, Sheriff Randy Holcomb said.
Ray James was found dead Sunday, but Holcomb refused to release any other details about his death or the investigation.
No other agencies are involved in the investigation, he said.
Call the funeral home. They can tell you what the arrangements are.

if your going to reference God's will you should know that even if you commit suicide then it is done for a bigger reason and maybe a lesson for others. But all things are done under God's will. He controls all and gives everyone the choices to make that allows them to go astray. Its saID that he gives those choices because he is a loving and kind God that doesn't want to force his subjects to love him. When the go to far instead of forcing them into submission he destroys them.
I doubt seriously that Mr. James's family is sitting around reading what's being written on this blog. Ya know, death under any circumstances is sad for somebody, but we've lost 4 World War II veterans this week. That's sad for everybody.
Reading their obituaries makes so many lives pale in comparison.
They gave so much & came from an era that expected little in return.
The world was such a different place then; we've lost so much more than our veterans.
Mr. Eagle holds a special place on this blog by virtue of who he was to one of my favorite visitors here. My deepest sympathies to you, DJE.
Clay County has had a sad week as I was friends with some that have passed this week. Mr. "Jesse James" Eagle was always there ready to do his part for the future generations of this county and would stick by you till the very end. Mr J.B Gray I can remember when I was probably 5 years old when he came to our farm to work building fence. His phone calls will be missed by many and his honesty with you was a trait not many people have now days. He also would be there till the end. They have all fought the fight and stood the race of time and gone on to better places for a rest. Our sympathy to all the familys and their great losses.
