CLAY COUNTY MAKES THE NEWS ... again

Five face charges in explicit photos of teen

Five people from Kanawha and Clay counties were charged Monday night in connection with taking sexually explicit photos of a 14-year-old girl at a residence in Clendenin. Police say the girl told them she had sex with one of the men, 20-year-old Donald William Taylor, of Bomont, at the residence. Taylor is charged with third-degree sexual assault, according to magistrate court documents.

Magistrate Julie Yeager arraigned the five people, including Amber Janett Stanley, 20, of Clendenin; Joshua D. Barnes, 23, of Clendenin; Thomas Vinson Mitchell, 29, of Clendenin; and Shelly Kay Sizemore, 35, of Bomont. Stanley, Barnes and Mitchell are charged with the use of a minor in filming sexually explicit conduct. Stanley, Sizemore and Mitchell are charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

With Fields and Knotts running loose after the grand jury charged them with sexual assault, these people will probably go free also.

Our dear Rose is living in a crime wave area, better sell now while your house is still worth something.

ROSE said...

LOL But then I'd have to move. I'll take crime over packing any day.

I just went to the WVRJA website to see if I knew any of those people. My search for "Barnes" brought up George. Good lord. He was a good kid once. Mowed our grass when none of the other lazy neighborhood slugs thought it was worth $35/week. Is Joshua from the same family?

Here's a totally unrelated question...

I got a letter today from Teresa Lane, Clay County Assessor's office. It says their office is required to review all property in this county every 3 years. Goes on to say that a deputy from her office has visited my property & I wasn't here; they've reviewed my real property & collected info regarding it's appraisal. I'm now to contact their office & let them know if there's been a change in my real property (i.e., room addition, built a building, etc).

Now, if they already have my property info on file & they review it every 3 years, shouldn't they already know if there's been any changes?? Wouldn't a new outbuilding or enclosed porch be a little obvious?

same ones that read the water meters are the same ones that review the property.

Sure is beautiful out this morning, here on the big Island.

Cloudin' up & comin' down up here on the mountain.

Rose, I guess that makes you a mountain women!

Anonymous said...

Is this the same Sizemore that worked for EMS in Clay, Calhoun and Roane counties?

Anonymous said...

Yes and she worked at Thomas Memeorial Hospital and her husband Chad used to be a deputy in Clay and now works as a charleston town cop.

Hot and muggy this afternoon, here on the big Island. But the surf looks nice.

Anonymous said...

Well in just a few minutes, it's gona be, 8/8/8/8/8/8, no big deal, happens once a year.Better than 666?

Anonymous said...

Hey wheres our mountain women at? You go on vacation again?

ROSE said...

Um ... sorta. Coupla lovely days of R&R at Memorial Hospital. LOL

Here's a word of advice for all you women out there - it might *not* be indigestion that makes your chest hurt, it might *not* be a pulled muscle that makes your shoulder ache, it might *not* be bad posture that causes that burn between your shoulder blades, it might *not* be gritting your teeth that makes your jaw ache. If you have any - or especially *all* - of these symptoms, go to the ER post haste. Otherwise, you might find yourself in the back of an ambulance & trust me, that'll totally screw up your day.

What'd I miss??

Does anybody know anybody who's got a walker they'd be willing to part with? I've got a neighbor who's lost a leg to diabetes & he's FINALLY! got his artificial one. Needs a walker, though, until he learns to waltz on it ... !

So tell us Rose, what was the prognosis,or would you rather not say?

ROSE said...

Well, I'm not pregnant ... beyond that, who the heck knows?!

All the tests came back negative & they gave me the all clear to get dressed & go home. So I did before they changed their minds. Diagnosis? I'm not sure they give those anymore.

Doc Adams did on Gun Smoke, the good old days?

ROSE said...

In the good ol' days, they'd have given me a shot o' whiskey & sent me home!

I'm no doctor (though, as a mom, I've impersonated one many times), but I'm going on the assumption that no diagnosis means a good prognosis.

Anonymous said...

Rose, I know what it may be, you could be suffering from one or more of the symptoms on your disclaimer.

Anonymous said...

Seems someone touched a sore spot?

ROSE said...

Someone touched a sore spot? I've gotta coupla sore spots ...

Fat Jack, you might just be right! LOL Lord knows it was easy enough to rationalize that some of those aches & pains were caused by too much time on the keyboard!

ROSE said...

I have no idea what that might mean.

Condolences to Linda's family.

Someone has a burr under their saddle for being deleted a comment.

ROSE said...

Are you the same Anon who thinks somebody hit a sore spot?? I'm trying hard to figure out what you might be talking about, but ... I'm just not getting it.

Nobody's been deleted - or even edited - here for quite some time.

Watch your mail people,he's on a roll again!

Anonymous said...

is it not a welfare burial when no information is given about the deceased?

ROSE said...

Not necessarily. It's entirely up to the family what's printed in an obituary. Or, while you're still living, you can request that your family not make any public announcement at all & skip the obit altogether. I'm thinking I might go ahead & write my own. Maybe I'll make it rhyme just for kicks.

Beautiful out this evening on the big Island. So glad I moved here years ago.

Anybody see the meteor shower last night? We dragged the hammock out to the middle of the yard to watch the show, but when we unfolded it, discovered a commune of wasps living inside. Have you ever sprayed a wasps nest? Sick! Big, fat, dead baby wasp larva all over my hammock. Consequently, we skipped the show & just went to bed. LOL

Looks like the jail web site will be down, until many of the counties pay their jail bill, no more hotties of the day.

Anonymous said...

BOIL YOUR WATER, CRPSD CUSTOMERS! Didn't hear the whole PSA, but the water is dirty. Not it's usual crystal clear.

Anonymous said...

The Clay-Roane PSD has issued a boil water advisory. It affects the following areas: Elkhurt Road, Camp Creek, Bomont and the area between Camp Bridge and the county line. The PSD says it is due to discolored water.

The PSD says people should boil their water for at least one minute before using it, or use bottled water. The PSD says boiling water will kill bacteria and other organisms in the water.

For more information contact the Clay-Roane PSD at 304-548-5209.

Pffffffft. It's not like anybody drinks that swill anyway.

Channel 8 just reported on the arson fire of the Ritmer home in Clay County. According to the story, the state fire marshall can't be bothered to investigate until tomorrow. All the local sheriff's office (that'd be Sheriff Holcomb) would tell them was that it was "under investigation."

Does anybody know what area of the county this is in?

ROSE said...

Sorry, it's Rickmer. Tom & Helen.

Anonymous said...

Rosey, a few days ago on the scanner they were talking about a man went out of town, came back to find his house had been robbed and then burnt down. This was in your area

ROSE said...

OH! I remember that. Sheltland Lane or something like that. I don't know where that is, but I do remember them saying something about Bomont. Good grief. What a world we live in.
