Well here's one for you. The ambulance director is she double dipping working full time at ambulance service while off from work at school system on medical leave or whatever she off on. Was she getting pay from school system and ambulance? I think it a good question since the ambulance service is broke lizemore put a hurt on them for sure. I saw in free press that they need a new ambulance but when you go by ,there is 3 sitting there so why do they need another one. Director king says revenue is picking up that hogwash but don't take my work for it go to the next commission meeting and ask it the 2nd wed in april at 10 in the morning. " But don't forget that under the watchful eye of our county commission the ambulance went broke in less that a year. Never a work at commission meeting about it. That open goverment for you.

Wow. Somebody's known me a long, loooooooooong time if you've actually seen me do a backflip. Or a split. LOL

Hope everyone survived April Fool's day with no lasting ill effects. >;D

Seems that the elected officials in this county have decided to put the county first and leave their personal agendas to the side.

Since they made a pact to do so I think the people in the county should just make their own pact. As they have been in office for some time now and have made sure their buddys have jobs, political favors must have all been repaid by now or the pact they made would still be just a thought of doing what they have been elected to do.

Let the people make a pact to remove them from office one at a time until the corruptness has been eliminated as it will be the only way the ones governing will get the idea they work for all the people not just the few.

any info regarding a burglary 1/21/2001, a Sunday morning during daylight hours, would be greatly appreciated. Taken; a fiddle made by RUSSEL HASH OF Ivydale, WV, "No 29" along with many other items. Police efforts very ineffective.

am wondering, the[my] burglary suspects left the county shortly after and I was told, called back, long distance from NC where one had obtained a job in the housing construction industry, possibly with a relative of Mr. J. Morris in the vicinity of CHARLOTTE. The recent incidents in which Mr Morris was involved with receiving stolen property makes one wonder if he had been doing this for some time. possibly receiving and disposing of stolen items.

There's a cornhole festival it's a competition at Huntington maybe you ought to go?

Anonymous said...

they found adam behind save a lot in gauley...

Anonymous said...

I heard it wasn't very far from where he went in and if they looked that night they wold found him.

Anonymous said...

why did he jump in? didn't he know it would be cold and wet?

Anonymous said...

Now if the report comes back from the ME exam with a few bullet holes,
Would that draw any concern?

Anonymous said...

Authorities haven't released the identification of the body yet - how many 1 armed bodies do you think they were expecting to find?

Anonymous said...

He was downstream over three miles from where he jumped in so don't let it be said they could have found him if they had gone in. The only difference is there would have been more bodies to recover had someone gone in after him.
As for bullet holes there sure would have been some had I been a deputy or state trooper or the sheriff. He made the choices to be a thief and a criminal not the law people that were trying to stop him that night or at any other time.

Just remember they were doing the job they were hired to do. I do feel bad for what he put his family through and what they still have to deal with. I have no sympathy for people who are doing wrong though.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like someone wizzed in someones oatmeal.

Anonymous said...

wonderful weather. going to be down to freezeing tomorrow night.

Anonymous said...

Hey anon at 6:21

I be you wont be so sympathetic if somebody breaks in on you and steals and destroys what you have worked for. If you even work.

As long as people ae willing to jump to the defense of these lowlifes, they are going to continue with their thieving, doping, and laying around all day, watching for people to leave their homes unprotected while they go to work.

These useless fks are willing to take the risk and the profits form thier crimes, so let them take the consequences too.

One less dumbass to worry about if ya ask me.

ROSE said...

As for bullet holes there sure would have been some had I been a deputy or state trooper or the sheriff." ... Anon, please leave your name so we don't vote for you should you ever run. What we have is bad enough without being trigger-happy & shooting willy-nilly at everybody.

The bottom line is, the whole situation is tragic, but it all could've been avoided. This is Clay County - they had his name, they knew who he was. Instead of involving everybody they had in the chase & endangering everybody else in their path, they could've simply sworn out a warrant & arrested him later. In fact, they could've just arrested him when he showed up in court for prior charges.

I have little to no sympathy for people who turn to crime as a way of life. Jobs are hard to come by, but an honest day's pay for an honest day's work is still available. There are legal ways to feed your family. However, there are also legal ways to deal with criminals. Chasing them to their death (or shooting them along the way) shouldn't be the first choice.

Anonymous said...

ah now thats a tear jerker for ya

Anonymous said...

Yeah, tear jerker because it's so friggin sad our cops are so friggin stupid.

Anonymous said...

I think some people are losing sight of the fact, that he was originally chased for reckless driving.
I guess that's a reason to shoot him, and chase him halfway cross the county, hunh?
Hell they even knew who it was while they were chasing him.
Wouldn't it have been better to just go to his house and wait?

see where the womens club gave Gene King aq plaque for 37 years service on the school board. Just think 37 yrs. of keeping the little fellers happy. permisive use of drugs, free condoms and welfare to pay for the medical bills of the squalling little brats when they were born. 37 years , OH OH OH Happy day.

Anonymous said...

Free condoms don't seem to be doing much good if there's still little brats.

Anonymous said...

Tell the truth about condoms girls.

Anonymous said...

It was the Woman's Club not the women's club. So if you don't agree, get involved, make an effort to make Clay County a better place. Just complaining does not help any situation.

Id rather pay for a condom instead of free ob-gyn for the duration of the pregnancy, free delivery and hospital fees, and then free welfare, SSI, food stamps, school lunch, clothing vouchers, and all the other give aways these leeches collect.

Anonymous said...

They did NOT know who was in that vehicle. They said who it was registered to( earnst Edward) they did not who was driving.

Anonymous said...

It doesn't matter if they knew who was driving the vehicle or if they knew they were doing the job they were being paid to do. The driver was breaking the law, the law broke the driver plain and simple. He made the decision to steal, to run that night and also to jump in the raging river. Some people it takes a while to realize who made the mistakes and who was doing what TAX DOLLARS pay them to do. So sad to bad.

I wonder how many people are complaining about Sheriff Holcomb's "potty mouth" heard over the scanner?

Here's the thing about this particular complaint - the solution is not going to be getting his vocabulary under control - the solution is going to be 1) go scrambled or 2) move to an airwave not as easily accessed by the general public.

For those of us who only have a low-budget, 1980s scanner, y'all need to let this one slide. Honestly, if you don't want to hear his teenage-boy-out-of-his-mother's-hearing language, turn your scanner off. The rest of us need the comic relief he provides.

Saturday, April 9th at 9:58. The Woman's Club did not send anyone to the Greenbrier this year. Maybe if you came you would find that things are different. We would welcome new people and new ideas, help us fundraise and decide where to spend our funds. Our fundraising efforts go toward the children of Clay County now. The only outside funding was the bags we made up for the Girl Scouts to send for Operation Smile.

Anonymous said...

Can we really expect a sheriff we call Poopy to act like a real law man?

Man of the cloth?? Is he like the rest of them we see on the news? Womanizers, perverts, child molesters and money hungry Morons. He only runs for a office if there is fear someone is going to replace "their" puppet in this case Connie Workman. Appointed by Judy, appointed by Avis, appointed by Andy Starcher. And so the official control remains in the family.

If you’re an average American taxpayer, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have, since 2001, cost you personally $7,334, according to the “cost of war” counter created by the National Priorities Project (NPP). They have cost all Americans collectively more than $980,000,000,000. As a country, we’ll pass the trillion dollar mark soon. These are staggering figures and, despite the $72.3 billion that Congress has already ponied up for the Afghan War in 2010 ($136.8 billion if you add in Iraq), the administration is about to go back to Congress for more than $35 billion in outside-the-budget supplemental funds to cover the president’s military and civilian Afghan surges. When that passes, as it surely will, the cumulative cost of the Afghan War alone will hit $300 billion, and we’ll be heading for two trillion-dollar wars.

In the meantime, just so you know, that $300 billion, according to the NPP, could have paid for healthcare for 131,780,734 American children for a year, or for 53,872,201 students to receive Pell Grants of $5,550, or for the salaries and benefits of 4,911,552 elementary school teachers for that same year.

Did Matt Humphrey plea deal it? Pled guilty to 10 of 24 charges. How does that work anyway? Does he pick and choose what he wants to say he did or didnt' do? I dont get it.

Anonymous said...

That's what Jim Knotts did, and Telford Jr.

Anonymous said...

Its called "play the Game" or as its said plea bargain. If you set the house on fire you can plea down to lighting the match but you don't have to plead to actually setting the fire. Also its called 'Criminal Justice System' and you the Victim have no rights where for almost two hundred years in the USA it didn't work that way.
I always thought you were innocent until proven guilty and not half way guilty after the evidence was presented. Why even have a law if you can halfway break it?

Anonymous said...

what the prosecutor and police do is charge the accused with offenses they know are not true so the defendant will be intimidated and "plea bargain", even though some are not guilty. if the defendant "plea bargains" it saves the cost of a trial and makes the prosecutor and police look good and the judge happy that he gets to sentence someone even though some of their victims are not guilty.

Anonymous said...

Actually, the rights of victims has just become an issue in the last 100 years.
Round the turn of the century people were working for pennies under a lot worse conditions than today, while the rich threw parties where the guests got to dig in a trough for jewels and the men smoked gigars wrapped in hundred dollar bills. You could even pay a standin fee to stay out of the military draft.
Funny how people get nostalgic about the past, most times they just aren't remembering very well.
We have way more freedom and power now than we ever had in the past.
You have the freedon to do what they tell you to.
