WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE ... NOT A DROP TO DRINK ...

Greetings, all you crazy folks who read this stuff!

The water fiasco continues on my end of the county. WVAW has virtually ignored our existence, the health department had the wrong info for the PSD so they weren't getting any that wasn't personally delivered, H.E. White Elementary was in session despite the fact that no other school affected was, decisions were made at every level without consulting anybody In The Know, decisions that should have been made weren't, because nobody would take charge, the right hand had no idea what the left hand was doing ... had this been an actual emergency, the lives at stake could very well have been lost.

On the upside, HEW students got to have cold sandwiches (plain ham & cheese - no lettuce, no tomato), cookies, pudding & Doritos for lunch 4 days in a row - in a county where whole wheat & "carrot coins" rule, it was a welcome change. At least the first few days - by Day 4, even the most resilient kids wanted something hot. Or at least something different.

In the overall scheme of things, this whole fiasco should be an epic eye-opener; I'll not be betting against anybody who says it won't be.

Yeah how about all the water from outside faucets being flushed out into the ground. Better no plant any gardens this season.

Ok OK just drink cerveza.

Outside faucets being flushed into the ground, contaminated public water being improperly flushed into private septic systems instead of municipal sewage facilities, all of it eventually making its way back to our natural water sources, anyway ... "fiasco SNAFU" doesn't begin to cover it.

Y'all feelin' warm & fuzzy about any of this?

No, I wouldn't be drilling any new water wells around these parts for years. They going to call this place Barren Bomont. I wonder what the half life of this stuff is? We are at the end of the line here so we will get the most of it.

It does need to be known that Sarah, Office Manager @ QSPSD, has done everything she possibly can to take care of QSPSD customers. She's made sure the distribution site was manned at all times, water was delivered to all who couldn't get their own, she was constantly on the phone, making sure the Health Dept & WVAW was keeping us in the loop.

While we're all still talking about this for years to come - & we will be, because who knows the long-term effects - make sure kudos go where they're deserved ... which, as far as I have seen, are only our little end of the county, limited to those who are directly affected.

Truck loads of fresh water in your front yards now. The Lord works in mysterious ways.
