4th Quarter; 14-10

The game's almost over & I'm just now acknowledging today is Superbowl Sunday. Obviously, I'm not a big football fan anymore.

I used to love football - Joe Montana, of course, was my favorite. Then it was just the outrageously good time hanging out at Super Bowl parties. Eventually, it was fun to watch the commercials.

I'm officially an Old Woman, I guess - there's nothing like a Super Bowl to keep the guys occupied so Mom can lounge in a nice long bubble bath with a good book & a cold Coke.

Looks like the Steelers took it 21-10.

Good morning, all!

I really wanted the Seahawks to win, just to upset all the predictions.

Ah, sirhenry, NASCAR used to be such a manly sport. Then all the rugged, chain-smoking, whiskey-voiced manly men gave way to ... sponsors, I guess.

Give me PBR anyday.

GM, Rose.

Controversy over the game last night, but the Steelers would've won even without the TD they didn't really get.

Noticed MP changed her website again. Guess she reads yours and realized people weren't impressed with hers, huh? George has some great new pics, too.

FYI - Blog.spot is planning a maintenance outage tonite @ 10 pm. Hopefully, they'll get all their bugs worked out & we can all get back to yakking about what's important ... or not. >:-]

Doesn't seem like there's much yakkin' of any kind going on out there. I thought the phone lines were still out.

OK, let's try this again ...

GOOD MORNING, ALL!!

Phone outages are the price the Other End of the County pays for their high-speed internet & such. Over here on this end, where we don't have such high-falutin' stuff, our phone lines are fine!

The "planned power outage" that was supposed to last 1/2 an hour, though, went well over the allotted time ....

Help!

The Ballard's (sausage) commercial was just on. You know the theme song, "B-A-double L-A-R-D-S you see ..." ?? We used to sing another song to this tune, "... it's a lick, on a stick, guaranteed to make you sick ..."

What was it??

L-O-double L-I-P-O-P spells lollipop, lollipop;

That's the only decent kind of candy, candy,

Man who made it must have been a dandy, dandy;

L-O-double L-I-P-O-P you see

It's a lick on a stick guaranteed to make you sick.

It's lollipop for me.

C-A-S-T-E-R O-I-L spells caster oil, caster oil;

That's the only decent kind of medicine, medicine,

Man who made it must have been an Edison, Edison;

C-A-S-T-E-R O-I-L you see

It's a lick on a spoon guaranteed to kill you soon.

It's caster oil for me.

ROFLMAO THAT'S IT!!

Oh, Smiley, YOU ROCK! This was making me nuts!! I remembered the "lollipop" part, but then had a massive brain fart & couldn't remember anything else.

Thanks!!

(Do you know the song that includes the line, "chicken (that) tastes like wood" ??? LOL)

"Have you ever went over a friends house to eat
and the food just aint no good?
I mean the macaroni's soggy the peas are mushed and the chicken tastes like wood."

Yeah, I know some of that one too. hahaha "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugar Hill Gang. That sure was one long-a$$ed song.

I'm glad I could help with that other one. It drives me nuts to try to think of a song and can't. :P

*I keep hearing "I said uh hip-hop-hippety-hop" in my head now, by the way. Thanks. LOL*

ROSE said...

LOL Oh, man, you are *GOOD*!! (I'm feeling an "All Things Trivia" post coming on!!)

My brother actually sang me this entire song the last time he was here. It was a big club hit when I was ... um ... never mind. teeheehee

CB?? You seeing this?? Tell me I'm crazy, will ya?! BAHAHAHAHA

ROSE said...

LOL uh hip-hop-hippety-hop ...

Oh, the flashbacks!!

SmileyTD said...

I swear...sometimes I think the reason I can't remember much is because my head is so full of song lyrics that it doesn't leave room for anything else. LMAO

ROSE said...

LOL At least you get the whole song & not just bits & pieces at random!

Obviously, I have trouble with lyrics, but I am cluttering my brain with birthdays of people I haven't seen in 25 years, phone numbers of people I knew in high school, people I need to "get back to" someday ... LOL

LOL!!! I thought the "chicken tastes like wood" thing was something your spit shined shoes, tie wearing young'n made up. I didn't know it was a real song. Funny that should come up, because my two were just talking about that the other day.
Better get started on that trivia post!!!
