KISS MY GRITS!

The Class of 1984 - the class ahead of me - had their 25th class reunion this weekend. I've been looking at the pictures ... LOL ... Now I'm having a 1984 Moment & y'all are all going there with me! BAHAHAHAHA

In 1984 I was 9 years old. "Webster" was so awesome. As was Punky Brewster. ZZ Tops' "Legs". Man those were the days.

Anonymous said...

Where do you find the pictures?

ROSE said...

Several people from the Class of '84 have posted them on their FaceBook pages. Oh, the memories ... the crushes ... the changes ... LOL

ROSE said...

Good morning, all you little rays of sunshine!

Nice mug shots over on AWs page. Some people just can't help themselves - they looooove having their pictures taken.

Seems the high school had "technical difficulties" yesterday during Obama's speech. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

More rain in the forecast today - it's gonna be snow in no time!

ROSE said...

Oooooooooo ... It's 09/09/09 & I left that message at 5:55 ... reckon it's one of those subliminal things?

Anonymous said...

Remember the Danny Funk family in your prayers today, they lost everything they had yesterday in a fire at Nebo.

Anonymous said...

The technical difficulties were had throughout the schools. Only 1 of my three children got to see the "speech". My other children reported that Clay Elem. couldn't get the speech on ch. 1 and eventually they did get it, but the children did not watch it. I could care less. It's just a bunch of hoopla.

Anonymous said...

I read the text of the speech.
It was harmless. No hidden subliminal coercion that I could detect, anyway.

Motivational and inspirational.

As on kid said, "If the leader of my country wants to give me some helpful advice, I'll listen."

Anonymous said...

Well I don't want Mr.Obama giving any advice to my children, He is trying to get them wrapped so he can rule them and every american. He is trying to make the united states communist. He wants to Rule everything.

Anonymous said...

The nigs are takin over anyhow. White kids listening to that jungle moozik-hats on sideways-pants draggin the ground.
There aint gonna be any white society in a few years.

Liberal politicans and Affirmative Black-shun have handed it over.

ROSE said...

Children who have been raised right will be able to distinguish the "good advice" from the BS every time. Sounds like somebody's parents may have dropped the ball at some point ...

Anonymous said...

There is nothing wrong with the Nigs everyone should have two or three to support instead of a dozen. As for communism it will never happen in this country but we are being choked down by the socialists government that Ronald Reagon predicted us to have back in the 50's.

I don't know if this is the beginning of another revalutionary war for the USA but it is long over due. I think this time it will be the white man against the Mex's Nigs and the whiggers. Can't wait until it starts I want to get a few hides for my barn.

Anonymous said...

Yeah ha ha the ball just dropped.

ROSE said...

LOL Freedom of Speech is a wonderful thing, huh?

Anybody watchin' the president yakkin'?? Between Chris Young on GAC & Ghost Hunters on SyFy, I'm afraid the president simply can't compete at our house.

Anonymous said...

I'm sure your boys especially the little one would not want to watch Obama. He is a nut.

ls said...

I wonder what percentage of president Obamas 900 billion health plan will be syphoned off in administrative costs and bonuses?

ROSE said...

Yeah, the "little one" is definitely a work in progress ... LOL

So did Obama leave everybody feeling all warm & fuzzy? He has that weird William Shatner "I pause in inappropriate places when I speak" thing going on.

ls said...

I wonder will President Obamas healthcare plan cover illegal immigrants[aliens] or will it not?

Anonymous said...

Yes it will cover the Mex's and other illegals, its the Americans it won't be helping out. I don't know about anyone else but I am sick of the free "HANDOUTS" by government and that includes these dopeheads, brood mare women running around in Clayberry. You say boo to one of them and out pops another "Welfare Leach". Straight out of high school and onto the welfare line is the goal now. Why? Because they set up dr appointments as far away as they can, Pay them big bucks for going to the dr. What kind of program supports this business?

ROSE said...

LOL Anon, I see you'll be wearing *pink* along with *me* this morning - my elder child informed me this morning I was a Communist for saying much the same things.

Pink's not really my color, but if being fed up with carryng the weight of every system sucker in this country means I'm a Pinko Commie ... I'll continue to wear my colors & accept my fate.

This guy will be at the Kanawha County Fair on Saturday Sept.12,09 for the mudraces. This will be the largest mudracing event in WV this year. Race starts at 12:00 Noon. Come cheer Clay County mudracers. Cleanest Family fun around.

Anonymous said...

If that be the case I should have bought some pink body paint then. Yes I am sick of supporting the fifth generation of welfare reciepents. If you don't work you don't eat should be the motto of this country like it once was. Its no wonder they are waiting for a free handout at the borders.

The only part of NOBAMAS speech that was true was when Joe Wilson told him HE LIES.

Anonymous said...

What I'm concerned about regarding all this health reform talk is the fines that will be imposed on families who do not insure themselves. If they don't have the money to purchase the mandatory health insurance, where in the devil will they get the $3,800 for the fine?

Anonymous said...

Im sick of talking about niggers and reform. Let's talk about mandatory vasectomies and tubal ligations for dead beat parents that owe over $40,000 in child support but continue to make more kids! wth is up with that? if you can't afford the ones you got, why make more?

oh and if you owe that much then why in the hell are you allowed to be out walking around and doing whatever you want, why your kids are being supported by others?

i seriously think congress needs to pass that bill that having more kids while owing child support in excessive amounts is illegal and you should go to prison and work for child support (hell why not, the state is paying to raise your kids anyway!). Give them so much a day for each kid and at least they would be working for it, instead of it being a free handout at the first of the month!

Somebody type in "plot" and "allah" so the CIA will check this blog out.

Its finally making good sense, and maybe the prez will see it before that ends.

Now, really...every working American has the same opinion as what is being said here now.
So-
How in the Hell do we manage to get these handout laws and policies made up for the Leeches?

Made up by the representatives WE elected and sent to the Legislature and Congress.

I havent mnissed an election in years.
And I have never heard anyh candidate get up and say "I'm gonna hand it over to the Nigs and Leeches, so vote for me!"

How does this happen????/

I don't understand the need to use racist language to try to make a point. One should realize that racist language clearly shows a lack of depth in one's thinking. A person can't even come close to sounding intellectual when using words like that.

But then maybe one doesn't care about sounding intellectual if, in fact, they are are not educated or not rational in their thinking processes. The words being written on this page clearly aren't making any sense. They are just words strewn together with no point being made at all. Seems like a waste of energy to me.

The world goes on no matter who is in the white house, blue house, or red house. It truly does not matter who is in "charge." The U.S. is not a super power, doesn't deserve to be, and never will be. Whoever is elected just "minds the store" until another day dreamer comes along.

Thank heavens I don't vote -- and never will -- I never have to complain about political things or argue about what someone in (supposed) power has done to help/hurt my life -- my life goes on just fine and each year is better than the next for me. The president of the U.S. doesn't do that for me. I do that for myself.

Anonymous said...

and yet, you reap the benefits just like everybody else. As a non-voter, that should be banned, just like it should be for non-taxpayers.

Anonymous said...

what's the failure to vote got to do with anything? isn't that what freedom is? being allowed to vote or not vote according to one's choice?

and what benefits are being reaped? a non-voter still pays taxes and is obligated to the same laws. so, what's the big deal if someone doesn't want to vote? geez that's ridiculous to think someone should be forced to vote. that's would be the opposite of democracy at work.

ROSE said...

A failure to vote is a failure to express your appreciation at being an American citizen. The equivalent of not flying the flag on days historically recognized for such, remaining seated during our national anthem, refusing to pledge allegience to our flag. We're a country based on symbolism; it's all symbolic.

Personally, I'm darn proud to be able to indulge in that symbolism on a regular basis. Especially after watching Iraqi citizens risking their lives for the privilege in their own country.

God bless America. Please vote for me.

Anonymous said...

Last time I looked voting was the civic duty of each American Citizen. I bet you didn't serve your country either just with the lip service. Got to be a school teacher who wrote all the intellectual garbage.

Again the last time I checked you didn't have to be educated or perform in the arts to place your opinion here. Who cares if you use proper English or not. Don't make you dumb or stupid to put your opinion in words that other people can understand. Better then having to get a degree just to read that BS posted at
Thu Sep 10, 04:07:00 PM And I ain't even educated to know that BS is what it is.

Anonymous said...

i never fly a flag and i surely don't think that's my civic duty to do so. so, i guess i have to agree with the non-voter. no one HAS to vote or HAS fly flags or HAS to honor the military. its' a personal choice and not some civic duty.

oddly, people who fly flags are usually the ones cheering and clapping at the end of the national anthem which is totally disrespectful.

Anonymous said...

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All...
A republic is a form of government in which the head of state is not a monarch[1] and the people (or at least a part of its people)[2] have an impact on its government.[3][4] The word 'republic' is derived from the Latin phrase res publica which can be translated as "public affairs".

Both modern and ancient republics vary widely in their ideology and composition. The most common definition of a republic is a state without a monarch.[5] In republics such as the US and France the executive is legitimated both by a constitution and by popular suffrage. In the United States Founding Fathers like James Madison defined republic in terms of representative democracy as opposed to only having direct democracy[6], and this usage is still employed by many viewing themselves as "republicans".[7] In modern political science, republicanism refers to a specific ideology that is based on civic virtue and is considered distinct from ideologies such as liberalism.[8]
We have the "Right" to vote, NOT the "requirement" to vote, although I personally feel if one makes the choice NOT to vote, then shut the hell up about who Is in office...

The Kanawha County Fair holds its 4 wheeler races tonight Sept.11, and tomorrow Sept. 12th the Mud Truck races begin at noon. This is promised to be the largest Mud Race of the year hosted by West Virginia Mud Racing Association and The Kanawha County Fair. The fastest trucks east of the Mississippi River will be there. Here is directions to get to Camp Virgil Tate and Fairgrounds.

From Interstate 77:
Take Tupper's Creek Exit (approx. 6 miles north of I-77 and I-79 interchange) to Rt. 21.
Go North on Rt. 21 approximately 1 mile to Sissonville High School
Turn left on Rt. 622 and go 4 miles.
Turn right across bridge and go 1- 1/2 miles to Camp.

ROSE said...

Yes, those of us who fly our flags are, indeed, the ones cheering & clapping after the national anthem. We're also the ones who wear t-shirts with flags on them, which is also inappropriate. We also have various stuff around our house that displays the flag - also inappropriate. Whooopeee.

Thanks so much for the civics lesson. I notice it was posted in the early morning hours of September 11. The rememberance ceremonies going on all day today won't have anything to do with democracy or voting or what's going on in Washington, DC. I'm willing to bet, though, flags will be flying all across this nation.

*That's* the symbolism I'm talking about. It's got nothing to do with "civic duty." It's a right, granted by Fate & the luck of the draw. If Fate had plopped you down anywhere else in the world, you might very well be totally ignorant of democracy & the flag you might be forced to fly might have your dictator's picture on it.

Another excellent reason not to go to tudors.

Anonymous said...

Miss Rose:
You had my post wrong, I totally believe in this GREAT counrty, but was disagreeing that people forget we are formed on a Republic, which allows people to be involved in government. As for the poster above me, clapping for our Nation and all we stand for is NEVER wrong. To me it shows that though we may not agree on everything, we agree that we have a GREAT COUNTRY....isn't FREEDOM GREAT? the pledge allegiance poster...

ROSE said...

Hint: The name you use here doesn't have to be your own - you can type anything you want in that "Name/URL" space.

LOL I doubt seriously Tudor's was the cause of the flu. How many people are in & out of there in day? & how many of them are like *me* - they hit up Tudors only after hitting up every other place in Clay? Except Foodland. That has got to be the most disgusting store in a 6-county radius.

Anonymous said...

who is it you dislike at foodland, Rose? I trade at Foodland and can remember what it was like before foodland was established.

ROSE said...

LOL I didn't say one word about disliking anybody at Foodland. The people I know who work there are great; the people I don't know have always been nice enough.

It's not the people - it's the store. I haven't even been in there for a couple of years, but the last time I was, it was dirty, the shelved items were dusty, the dairy section smelled like spoiled milk, there were open boxes of drying bacon in the meat section & for what I paid for what I got, it would've been cheaper to drive all the way to WalMart.

But I reckon I like everybody there.

sherlock said...

Sherlock, you're so full of crap. I *still* don't know who the hatchet man is or what you think my "relationship" with him might be. Whatever "relationship" you have me in - in your own mind, of course - is totally bogus & exists nowhere beyond the protective covering of your skull.

I know many of your associates and relatives. they have been mentioned here. But sometimes I wonder, are you involved in a drug ring or not? are you involved in a money laundering scheme or not? IS YOUR EMPLOYERS HONEST OR NOT, AND I refer to the housing authority scam or swindle.
I WONDER I WONDER I WONDER??????????

Anonymous said...

I agree the ppl who work at Foodland are swell! But they seriously need to clean that place up.... Have you ever looked up? While your bored waiting in line with only one cashier, take a gander at the yellow staind ceilings and the long strings of dusty cobwebs, then look down at the dingy dirty looking floor... lets not even talk about the produce section!!

Anonymous said...

and then we have the liars, ho boy it's a cold cruel world.

Anonymous said...

Just like the BOE Foodland could use a good cleaning "OUT" period, starting at ther entrance and completely inside and back to the exit. Bleach, Bleach and more bleach would work wonders but when you are "LAZY" and its been handed to you on the proverbial silver spoon, you have trouble wiping your own hiney.

Just another rat hole in Clayberry that needs cleaned out top to bottom.

sherlock said...

how did foodland come about? without JOAN REED, DAVID PEARSON, and MIKE KING there would be no foodland. of course those prospered from the lease money from foodland. the person who benefited from the death of the owner, to the best of my knowledge, was taken from her father at an early age. her father was a no-good drunken deadbeat who beat everyone who trusted and credited him. "But" he got the origional cookshack from Ivydale school, via the BOE, and a RAILROAD pension, via the FREEMASON lodge in both cases. his father was a goat man.

ROSE said...

LOL Sherlock, I work for a law firm - I work in the public finance department, putting together loan documents for public financing.

I have no idea what you're talking about re: "the housing authority." Care to clue me in? There are 150+ attorneys where I work - I work for *4* of them. What the other 146+ are doing has nothing to do with me.

As far as my "associates and relatives," I grew up in Clay County. EVERYBODY knows my relatives. I'm no more responsible for their actions than I am for yours.

& honestly - do you really believe what you read on this blog???

I don't remember a time before Foodland. How long has it been there? I'm thinking the last time it was clean was probably about the time it was built.

Not bad since it was their first mud race event

ROSE said...

WOOO HOOOO!! Sounds like a great time! I sure wish somebody'd bring something like that to Clay. We paid $10/person to get into the Doddridge fair - which isn't all that big - & on our group alone, they made $120. That adds up pretty fast.

If the same volunteers who put together the ramp dinner at HEW would spear-head it, they'd make a mint!! (hint hint!)

You better listen to your antivirus Ms Rose as everyone knows AW is full of S&^*. I have your parking place saved already also. You can park around back of the courthouse where it says Reserved for Judge as I am sure you will get to see.

Look on the AW site, you see those three women on the bench, looks like they have had plenty of experience, or practice for the picture.

ROSE said...

Here's a suggestion - print out the picture AW posted of the sheriff's office vehicle parked in a handicapped space & keep it in your pocket. Park in a handicapped space & when somebody with a badge wants to give you a ticket, whip it out & stare 'em down. Make sure you cause a big ol' public scene while you're at it so you attract lots of attention.
