Let's see, now. What needs of the people could be met with money spent on a lawsuit that could be prevented?

How about a "Meals on Wheels" for the elderly who live alone?

A child care center for single parents or the married ones who have to work because in today's economy, sometimes it's a have-to case.

More money in the budget for the Volunteer Fire Departments. Those people are awesome. They do it all. Fight fires, clear roads, traffic control. Almost without exception, they are the first ones on the scene of accidents, fires, fallen trees, etc.

More money in the budget for the Ambulance Service (and not for pay raises necessarily) but to add at least one more crew. Anyone who has a scanner knows how badly that is needed.

Also for the elderly citizens who are alone those thingys that they can wear around their necks and just push a button to summon help if they should fall and can't get to the phone.

I'm sure there are other needs that could be met, but that's all I can think of this early in the morning.

We already have "Meals on Wheels" provided by Putnam aging. Out of the Clay County Senior Center Inc. at Two Run.

Yes, I did the copy & paste thing. The other was getting lengthy & we're not quite finished with this conversation yet.

How about bus service? The few jobs in Clay are only available to those with transportation. Many more people could be gainfully employed if they only had a way to get to a job. There's a KRT stop in Clendenin; why don't we have a way to get people there?

"A" child care center would be a good start - there needs to be several. Again, transportation is a problem.

Commissioners need to network. Attend county commission meetings in other counties. By virtue of my job, I see all kinds of progress being made all over the state - Clay County never crosses my desk.

Yes Rose, you copyed & paste but
you did a good job...

Good morning, Rose. Those are great ideas. Hopefully other bloggers can think of a few more. I am sure there are many. Have a good day. Will check back later to see what shows up.

'mornin, Glory!

I just hope we get somebody who has the wherewithal to take some of the better ideas to heart.

It's snowing, I'm off today & the coffee's fresh. Life is good ...

Hey, thanks, CBP! I'm a trained professional, ya know. teeheehee

Better not go to the Hurherald or calhoun co, commissioner weaver a card carrying member of the owesome loveable "ACLU" will get you butt

ROSE said...

I'm not sure what that means, dave, but I just took a gander at the Hurherald website. Why is the filing fee to run for County Commission so much less than the one to run for Board of Education??

the past few elections, there were people who really wanted to make a difference in clay. people like that never get elected. god forbid somebody get in that thinks for themself or that anything ever change in clay.

Anonymous said...

LMAO. That didn't take long for someone to go out in left field. Either didn't bother to read original post or just went right over their head. Of course, I'm referring to post regarding ACLU.

tra-la-la-la-la ... getting nothing done ... LOL

WVChic30? Once these kids are grown up & on their own & I've got all kinds of time on my hands, WATCH OUT! I figure in the 10 years that's going to take, I'll have my "low tolerance attitude" perfected & be ready to just plow down anybody who gets in my way. LOL

b...rulz, I think my next topic will be "Scratchin' My Butt" & see where that takes us. BAHAHAHA

Anonymous said...

lol. That should be very interesting.

Hope I'm still around in ten years. My low tolerance attitude has been in effect for quite some time.

Nothing getting done here either. lol

Anonymous said...

Just an observation, Rose. Your posts might get off topic, but that last one had over 50 comments & only 1 mention of you-know-who. Ya gotta love that.

Anonymous said...

Good point, anon. Hope it don't jinx us though. lol. And how refreshing!!

I think that if you had any idea the time and hairspray Rose spent on her hair you would know...she doesn't wear a hat.Perhaps a nice name badge and clip board would work just the same.

ROSE said...

LOL & Creative Genius hair gunk. Don't forget that, it's a very important part of the regime.

I like your new home page quote. I bet you could find hundreds that use that same thought process from that particular quoter.

USAFCowboy? I tried getting here via those links & I don't get that. I haven't changed any of the settings here, so maybe your pop-up blocker is drunk?? Or you might've gotten zapped by spyware.

Anon, I love to listen to GWB speak. It's like watching a movie full of bloopers. The other day, he was talking about the wire-tapping, etc., & the media's role in "leaking the story." He said something like, "These terrorists hear what you're writing." ... Huh? Does that mean they could just print STOP TERRORIZING US! & the bad guys' ear drums would burst??

Forget all this talk about the 10 in Clay. There's a guy in Italy suing a priest cause he says Jesus never existed at all, historical or otherwise. Italian courts have to hear the case. "The Roman Catholic Church may be breaking the law by teaching that he existed 2,000 years ago." Now the defendent has to prove that Jesus did exist. Talk about pricey lawsuits!

Has anyone read the article in the Times Record about the arrest of a grandmother" Linda Begler"???
Went readers from other state see something like that, it's no wonder they believe all the dumb jokes about hillbillies!!
Just a little common sense would have went a fer piece , the trooper and J.P. must the been trained in Clay County..

Grrrr.. if this ain't aggravatin'. This link keeps poppin' up

Anonymous said...

dant da dahh.... cowboy to the rescue!! what a hero you are.

Anonymous said...

I've been having trouble with the earn your degree page too. Probably time to run the ad-ware program thing. That should take care of it.
C'mon WVChic tell us a story! You have some good ones!
Don't really have much to say, just wanted to hone in on the conversations. I think I'll do a little looking around for information on hair gunk since the Freemasons have already been researched.

Here's a good quote for your home page!!! ; D

No one likes a smart a** CJ or RC!! lol k?
Research what you want to, hair gunk is a good place to start!

I swear, every time I go to the kitchen, y'all come & yak without me. LOL

OMG, are y'all watching the national news? I'm a (news) junkie, ya know. Shep & Coop ... they're regulars at my house. Anyway, the 911 tapes have been released. What a gut-wrenching ordeal. Somebody needs to take away my TVs .......

Anonymous said...

Nothing wrong with being a news hound grandma...I mean Rose.
It's important to be well informed.
WVChic30 I loved your quote! Can a person really watch too much Sponge Bob? I've watched it quite a lot and I don't think it's ever been too much.
Meanwhile, who is CJ? Smart a**? I'm not claiming it now!!!
I really need to learn how to sign in as a blogger I guess. >:P

CB

ROSE said...

Is it better to be a smart a*s than a dumb a*s?

CJ & RC? Wait. Is that RC ME?? LOL I'm a bit befuddled.

I got yer grandma, CB! I wonder if our own grandmas thought the anchors were hotties & that's why they watched so often?? teeheehee

Have you guys seen the SpongeBob movie? "Hey, Paaatttriiickkk!" .... LOLOL See? Proves I'm a well-rounded individual - I love SpongeBob just as much as Shep & Coop.

I do NOT have a problem. I can stop watching anytime I want to. It is NOT an obsession. Like y'all don't have TVs in your bathrooms? Hmph.

I don't mean to get back on track, but why doesn't the county comm. arrange to clean the place up? The trash along the roads is awful. Such beautiful scenery, until it's marred by beer cans, beer bottles, McDonald's trash & baby diapers.

Instead of racking up court costs & jail bills, make people (like MP, worthless check writers, etc.) get out there & work off their "debt to society".

Anonymous said...

I think that making MP work would be cruel & unusual punishment, and either 1. she would die from acutally working, or 2. she would sue the sh*t out of you for makin' her work.

Anonymous said...

LOL~~I love those that imitate me!

MP~~

Anonymous said...

Don't they say imitation is the highest form of flattery?

Anonymous said...

9:18 anon~ way to get right back on track. What track is it we were on???
No one was talking about MP (it was nice reprieve)and you, by "getting back on track" ruined it. Nice work!

However, your idea of having someone doing community service by way of cleaning up the county is a good idea. Out here in the land of milk and honey...I mean alfalfa sprouts and microbreweries, chain gangs are in full force. They don't call them that of course, but there are often inmates at the roadsides picking up trash or spreading barkdust or some such.
I read where AW says that the county cant afford to keep its inmates in jail. So put them on home confinement and drag them out everyday to clean up the road sides, or those disgusting places where people, for some reason, think it's okay just to stop and get rid of their tires or old appliances.

Good lord. Ok, y'all, whether it's an original post or a copy & paste, that kind of foulness won't be allowed on here.

ROSE said...

LOL Poor George.

CB, how'd you beat me in the door? That "foul" remark didn't apply to you, of course. >:)

Anonymous said...

Different time zone man! I can beat you to the head of the line every time. We're three hours behind here!!!
I missed foulness? Evidently I didnt get here fast enough!

Thanks for deleting that, Rose. Isn't it funny how nothing like that showed up until MP showed her nasty self again.

Hey, Rose. Just getting back here after loonnggg day.

hippy, the ban against tobacco use is county-wide, not just in town.

Who ever it was that brought MP up again...I hope you can feel me wringning your neck!!!

Have good night, Rose. Check in tomorrow.

Nice to see MP back. Didn't figure she could stand to stay away. She's showin her stupid, again. Who imitated her? One of her other personalities?
