Tiny Bubbles ....

Now that Don Ho is engineering your train of thought, let's see where it takes us. (If you don't know who Don Ho is, Google him & come back, young whippersnapper. While you're at it, look up Sammy, his sidekick. Oh, how I loved that show ....)

If Don Ho doesn't do it for you, we could always talk about Perry Como. Or Julio ... or Charro ...

Are his acting skills comparable to his singing skills?

I don't know...what was I going to say???

Someone's excessive watching of "Quigley Downunder" ruined all things Tom Selleck for me : (

Bonanza ... Little Joe & Adam were also on my list of potential great loves of my life.

It's becoming more & more clear to me that I'd have made a helluva groupie somewhere along the way ... LOL

Good morning, all!

Barry Manilow, Andy Williams. Nope. Give me Whitesnake, Motley Crue, Poison, AC/DC, etc. Love those 80's hair bands. MASH, Becker, Two Men and a Boy. Still like the Lil Rascals though.

Fraid I agree with anon. How are ya, Rose. Not much blogging these days. Been pretty quite myself. Did you have to drive in that nasty white stuff this morning? Come on spring!! Know we haven't had much snow but any is too much for me.

ty, hippy. very touching.

Thank you, Hippy. I downloaded the video and started to watch, but ended up having to do so with the volume off. (That song really, really gets to me....chokes me up and brings me to tears, no matter where I am or what I'm doing.) Regardless, that was a very touching memorial to the fallen miners. Thank you again for sharing it.

Hey, y'all! Not much blogging going on over this way because *somebody* has a computer that apparently hates her. LOL That's OK, it's a mutual thing. Looks like we might have reached a temporary truce, though.

I played hookey today (no driving in the snow for this ol' chicken girl!) & was channel surfing. Montel was fired up because all the "local stuff" (tragedy-wise) has overshadowed the fact that we're losing troops every day on foreign soil.

It's always struck me as odd how today's news can make us totally forget what happened yesterday. It's been almost five years since September 11. A year since Katrina. One month since Sago & Melville. Through it all, our soldiers trudge on in parts unknown.

Long after the miners are gone from the news, their families will be living without them. Just like the families in Oklahoma City & Columbine.

Let us always remember, lest we ever forget. Keep them all in your prayers, always.

Cathy Butcher who is Tim Butchers Wife Who is Joyce and Morgan Gibsons Daughter in law signed up today against Connie Workman. She was brought out by Jimmy Sams. Teresa Lane and Randy Holcomb to beat Connie Workman per sheriff office employee who thought it was a disgrace and "plain" dirty politics

let us all remember filcon and tim butcher

Cathy Butcher has a job. She is activities director at Laurel Nursing. Personally, I think she is a very nice person and does well at her job. However, I will not vote for her for County Clerk. I truly hope she will tell her husband and in-laws to back off and not allow them to put her in the messy business of politics. Connie Workman is one of the few in the County Clerk's office who has always been very helpful and since she has been working there forever she knows the job and does it very well.

I don't know what Connie's husband does for a living but I am pretty sure he works also. Their son, Eric, is attending college and he is a very nice young man. From everything I know about this family, if anyone deserves my tax money, they do.

My first thought when I read about Sams, Lane and Holcomb bringing Cathy into this was oh, they want someone in there who doesn't know the job so they can pull the wool over her eyes and do as they please. This does not surprise me at all with Sams and Lane, but I am disappointed that Randy would be a part of it. I think Randy is doing a good job as Sheriff in spite of his less-than-perfect people skills. Anyway, this is getting too long so enough of my opinion about all this.

Can anyone decipher the 10:09 A.M. comment? Duh!!!

Anonymous said...

Yes, the but the 10:09 comment is incorrect. Connie had nothing to do with it. Fran and Pistol Pete refused to pay the deputies for un-used vacation time. It was strictly forbidden in the employee handbook.

Anonymous said...

Ahh, so they do have an employee's handbook. So, if this is the case, and paying for unused vacation time is "strictly forbidden", then it should have been a no-brainer.

I posted something on the "This Has Got To Stop" thread regarding the miners. Be sure to check it out if you get the chance. It's well worth reading.

THANK YOU, SMILEY! When Homer Hickam's movie (October Sky?) first came out, I made my children watch it. Well, the first time I "made" them - the other 17 times were strictly voluntary!!

He personifies everything that West Virginians are and will ever be.

You are most welcome, Rose.
