Ms Rose I hate to be the one to say back to the ole grind but I contacted the Secretary of States office today and Link is under investigation as of NOW. The mailings and also the website and email addy all are being investigated at this time. This was talked about here a couple days back. I am still thinking about Allie and the rest of the family during this tragic time in their lives as along with the rest of the county. I hope you nor anyone else thinks this is inappropriate at this time. Since I don't have an email addy for you this is the only way I have to let you know.

See how easy? Just cut, paste & VIOLA! I'm anybody I want to be. teeheehee

I don't think it's inappropriate at all. My children will tell you all about the Circle of Life & how we're not meant to stop living when someone we love does. We're simply supposed to go on till our turn comes.

Ya know, I read AWs site (I believe every single solitary word he says, bar none) & the mistake sounds like a logical one. I'm sure they all will.

I really like KT (especially like to hear him sing!) - I hope he's got the cojones to say NO if he's asked to do website updates on county time.

If you click on my name, you'll go to my profile (712 views??!!) & my email address is listed there. That's "bareft" (as in barefoot), not BARFT. LOL

How come you archived the County Commission thread? I was watching an....um...exchange of thoughts on the jail in Clay County.
Just wondering
CB

ROSE said...

LOL I didn't! Well, it did kinda disappear when I added a new post, but I changed the number of posts that show up so it shoulda come back. I'm not done with some of those conversations.

Hey, rose! I was readin AWs site too (don't believe a word he says) & I have 2 questions;

If the public didn't find out, would the county still be paying?

&

Does "internal" refer to maybe gas cause they're all so full of sh*t?

ROSE said...

This is totally out of context & has nothing to do with anything, but does anybody know the procedure to secure a concealed weapons permit?

Anonymous said...

Warning!

The US Surgeon General has recommended that we stay away from sick and dead poultry. Please, I urge you, play with only live chickens!

Anonymous said...

for a concealed weapons permit you have to take a class. You can call the sheriffs office usually Miles Slack teaches the 8 hour course then you take a test pay $75 and shoot away

ROSE said...

Thanks! My brother & I already had this discussion & he told me exactly what I needed to do, but that was over New Year's weekend and ... uh ... I ... didn't get enough sleep to remember what he said. teeheehee

Me? Running for county commission?? BAHAHAHAHA!

Pistol packin 5 ft nothin 100 lb county commissioner??? Where do I vote?

Anonymous said...

Come on Rose!! You and Mike and George have really let us down. Lets get some controversial subjects to get the Blood a Pumping? How about the Election, Water Rates, Trash and Junk Cars Everywhere, Lack of recreation, Community Meetings, The new School, Funding of Girls sports verse Funding of Boys Sports, Deputies being paid $50.00 a night to stay home and answer the phone, No town cop, save the mussels do not build a new Dundon Bridge, Save the swinging bridge Hows that for some ideas. 3 fingers and lone stranger helped me think of them.

ROSE said...

GOOD MORNING!

Who called me 5 ft. nothing? Man, on a good 80s girl hair day, I can be almost 5'6".

Anon? Me? Start something controversial? Surely you jest. teeheehee

See you have started a new post. Just hadn't got there yet this morning. I am wondering about the postage used on Link's propaganda piece. Could that have been the Board's meter. Anyone know?

ROSE said...

mornin', b...rulz!

I'd say if the Board's meter was used, we'll all find out about it. Surely too goodness he's smarter than that???

Did anybody else ever sign up to run or is everybody waiting till the last day?

Anonymous said...

Will get in trouble for anything you suggest, Honk if you see gonk.lol

Anonymous said...

Who's dick and wtf is he talking about?

Anonymous said...

Mornin' Rose. Just making my rounds. How can we determine whether or not Link used school board postage meter? Any suggestions. Wouldn't put it past him to do that. He's arrogant enough to think no one would be smart enough to catch on if he did.

Have good day.

Anonymous said...

Or possibly arrogant enough to think no one would do anything about it if they DID find out. After all, we do live in a county where the "Good Ol' Boy System" is alive & well.

Anonymous said...

You got (have) my vote Southern Boy!

ROSE said...

I'm not sure how I feel about the word "absorption" on my website. teeheehee

"Honk if you see Gonk." LOL I'm going to have that made into a bumper sticker.

Ah, hippy, there's no such thing as "conflict of interest." There is only "Democracy." Call the WV State Ethics Commission. They'll tell ya all about it.

By the people, for the people? This line was never supposed to have been in there. It got thrown in in error. See, all those guys were sitting around ye olde peep show tavern & one of them says, "I say! Look over BY THE PEEP HOLE!" ... another another one says, "Great scott! Did you hear what she offered to do FOR THE PEE POLE?" One of the wives found out, they tried to cover up ... the rest is history.

ROSE said...

Bawdy wench?? LOLOL Some days a respected lady, some days a bawdy wench. LOL tra la la la la

Welcome, SoutherGirl/SexyWoman! (I know what you're all thinking. Just pretend for a moment that you're not, OK? Let us just have 1 more day without mentioning her, OK??) Let me know what you need help with & I'll do what I can. It's pretty cinchy, really.

Hey, Rose, have you been to Mike's blog yet today? If not, check it out. What do you think of saving the swinging bridge at Elkhurst? Myself,I'd kinda like to see it saved. I know there are more important needs to be met in the County, but that doesn't seem to be happening anyway so what not throw some dollars at saving the swinging bridge? My dad, God rest his soul, loved to drive us across that bridge because it scared the crap out of us. Of course, that was many years ago and I'm sure he knew it was safe to cross. He sure did get a kick out of us and I think we liked it even though it scared us. Just another good memory. Later.

To Hippy,
I believe you need to get some facts straight. Fran King cannot stand blood or guts you have never seen Fran King work on any ambulance. I have worked on the ambulances for YEARS and the only time you have seen her is to get us supplies if we need them out of a truck and if blood is involved you will find her waaaay down the road flagging traffic.

I was thinking the same in regard to Southern Girl!!!! Hmmm.....quite a cowinkydink she asked you and not George or Mike or Frogger ( or political incorrectness...pfffft yeah right snort! snort!) They all have the real nice Blogs with pictures and colors and such and yours is just all one brown color and not really very....um...uh....well....you do have the good conversations here! And by golly that's what counts!!!

b...rulz I'm with you. Let's save that swinging bridge. My husband used to take the boys and I across that for the same reason; just to scary the willies out of us and we loved it!!! I even drove across it myself once, (not sure if I would do that again if I was able). Is there any sort of organized....anything or anyone putting forth an effort to save it? I wouldn't putting in some time or effort to help that cause. Is is just closed off now? There aren't plans to tear it down are there?

CB (just kidding about your brown blog Rosey Posey, I just though you would eventually change it over to the leopard print background and you never did! >; D)

What do people on the Executive Committee do? Does it require a lot of sitting around eaterys jabber jawing with everyone in town, but not really require any sort of actual work or responsibility?

Anonymous said...

If you have concern why to you not ask her and I am sure she will tell you or tell you who to call. I would hate to think that the episode that just happened and they need a wrecker to take an ambulance off of the top of a victim and they would have to wait for one to come from Summersville, Braxton, Charleston, or Spencer. I was on a call not a month ago where a Jeep flipped and the entire top was crushed and we did not know if a victim was inside or not and we had to use the wrecker to pick it up to view to see if any victims were under the vehicle.

Anonymous said...

Hippy,
I believe that you should look up EMS when you are speaking of it. A wrecker service is a privately owned entity. They are not associated in any way with EMS they purchase their rights thru the West Virginia Public Service Commission. I would like to represent the victim that was is an ambulance and was over an embankment or stuck in mud or snow and the ambulance service called a service not on the county rotation and waited 45 minute to an hour for service. I have investigated accidents at the wrecker service and if there has been a fatality in a vehicle Fran walks you to the door and waits. She told me after her husbands death she cannot handle death very well. I believe her sister in law runs the ambulance service. Please feel free to verify any information I have provide you.

In response to all of the Link stuff.. Let me preface this by saying that in no way am I a Link supporter, but I am really missing the point on the email being a big deal. When creating his site, the email would be used as a way for the webhosting company to contact him. That is all. It really has no monetary dealings with the website. In order to secure his url he is going to have to pay for it anyways and the email has nothing to do with that. I dont really see how that can be construed as him using taxpayer money for the website. The mailing rates are a different story.

It would be the same thing as when people need to contact you, you give them your work number. Same thing. If he wanted to he could list a personal email account and forward it to his work account. It would be the same exact thing. I dont see how either is that big of a deal.

Here;s the problem with Linky using his school email address... it means he was doing politics while on school time. It means all corespondence from the web site will go back to his schooltime email address. It means Link is willing to use tax money to advance his personal politics and that sucks!

ROSE said...

I'm going to go out on a limb & guess that Link's brought in more money for this county than he's wasted on email.

Show me 1 person who has never used their "paid for by a third party" internet access - either for email or surfing - for personal stuff & I'll show you my best look of disbelief.

It doesn't mean he was doing politics while on school time. Checking his email could be done at home and listing that email on his website does nothing to show he worked on the website on school hours. KT did the website anyways.

The correspondence, as you say, will go back to his school email address but that doesnt mean he is checking them on school hours. I still dont understand how "Link is willing to use tax money to advance his personal politics" can be taken from what went on.

He may very well use tax money to advance his campaign, but not in this case. It is just AW wanting to sell newspapers and obviously his readers are dumb enough to keep falling for it. AW just gets people fired up over nothing so people will buy his paper. Just like all of the whining about closed door meetings and how it is the end of the world. AW thrives on having his soapbox of a newspaper to stand on everyday and people just read right into it.
